Publisher's Summary

This is book two in the Filthy Beautiful Lies series.

I never expected to watch Sophie walk away. She was mine. I would own her. She just didn't know it yet. New goal: Seal the deal and rock her world so thoroughly she would never want to leave again. Highly sexual and emotionally charged, Filthy Beautiful Love is the provocative conclusion to Filthy Beautiful Lies.

Great Story Line But...

Any additional comments?

I am writing this review based on Book 1 and 2 together

I really enjoyed this book. I loved reading a different twist on the millionaire meets the naive virgin story that has been told many times. I found myself really excited to see what happens next.

I loved that it wasn't an instalove story. Even thought it takes place over a few months the author showed the time passing so it wasn't always feeling like one day immediately after another.

I loved that the reaction to the "secret" was reasonable and not blown over the top and I loved that the resolve was also reasonable and didn't consist of either of them loosing themselves or doing something they didn't want to do.

Now for what I DON'T love...

I have a pet peeve with books that are two short novellas that should have just been one book. Why are we doing this?? It seems to be a trend that I'm seeing now and it is irritating. I don't feel like this book should have taken up TWO of my audible credits and I don't think I would have wanted to pay the almost $30 I would have had to pay for both books. I would love for someone to explain why this is being done outside of making more money for what should be one book.

Second the narrator had a great female voice and did great with the female parts, however I really wish she had a different tone for the male voice and would commit to it each time. There were times where I would have to pause the audio to do something else and then I would come back mid chapter and have to try to figure out who was speaking between the two main characters. I like when I can vision the male based on the voice and the character the author was writing should not have had a voice so feminine.

This could have been a 5 star book for me if not for these two things.

Loved this story.

This was a wonderful story that had me laughing and crying. The performance by Ava Erickson was spot on.

Easy listen

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Combine book 1 and 2 into one story and add a male narrator. I really enjoy Ava's narration but for the male POV I would have loved a male narrator.

Any additional comments?

Sweet low angst story that was enjoyable.

Should've been one 9-hour book instead of two.

I didn't pay attention that this was a 2-book series. The story was not BDSM as one would think after having virginity auctioned off. The first book was character development, second book the romance. Slow and steady wins the race.

I only liked the narrator

I wanted to like this book. But I found it to be pointless to listen to. I was annoyed with Sophie's character who continued to be jealous of every woman in Colton's life. It got played out real fast. Not to mention the fact that the first book ended with a big cliffhanger and the issue of Colton still being married was quickly overlooked and taken care of. Basically becoming completely unnecessary to this couple's relationship. There was also another unnecessary thing that happens towards the end that I thought was just messed up and didn't so anything for the story or relationship. I was just completely disappointed.

Had it not been for the amazingness that is Ava Erikson who I am completely in love with, I probably wouldn't have finished this book. The narrator always gets me lost in a book, even ones it appears I am not enjoying. I just get so long in her narrating. She is always amazing and one of my favorites. I just wish that there was a male narrator for this book because the pov would switch to Colton and I would get confused since I was still obviously listening to a female voice.

Beautiful!

This story is the second part of a duet and a part of four part series overall.

Colton and Sophie are beautiful together and perfect for each other. He helps bring her to life and she helps bring him out of his shell.

Beware while this book is absolutely beautiful it’s an ugly cry book. (But worth it!)

Good Lord, as long as it took...

I thought the poor girl was going to die a virgin.

It was good. Just moved slow. Not much angst.

Charmed By The Characters

This story could've been the typical millionaire meets virgin but its so much better. It begins with the forbidden but twists into more as things develop between Colton and Sophie. This second book picks up the pace. Now with much of their back stories revealed, the book progresses into steamier moments and there's beauty between people who allowed their relationship to develop slowly and honestly. They're absolutely charming. Loved it!

Warning: Be ready to begin the next book right away.
