Publisher's Summary

Misha had somehow landed herself a job as a barista at one of the very first coffee shops to officially reopen in the city after an alien race known as Debir overtook the earth. Work is good, business is picking up, and things are feeling almost normal again until one of those aliens walks in and her world turns upside down.

Seeing a Debir in the flesh was nothing like she had imagined it would be, and the minutes-long encounter leaves her with memories of ember colored eyes and a rumbling baritone that wouldn't let go.

Accepting that it was simply a chance encounter, Misha is then shocked to find an invitation to participate in an exclusive "Human/Debir Initiative".

Taking part in it would mean a better life, one she couldn't even imagine, but the more she reads about it the more shocked she becomes...

To be used simply to breed...and with eggs? Misha should have immediately tossed the invitation in the trash, and she would have had it not been for thoughts of those ember eyes and deep voice.

Not a fan.

Let me start by saying I'm not going to rate this story because I didn't ask for it. I decided to leave a review though. Enjoy!

I was given a free audiobook code for this story. Was it the story I’d asked for in Audiobook Boom? Nope. Did I know it was erotic? Who wouldn’t with that title? I decided to give it a try. Originally, I received an email from the narrator with a long list of codes. Unlabeled codes (thanks!). I redeemed the first two, hoping one would be the book I’d asked about. Nope. There was this story - erotica - and a kid’s story. Yeah... I thought that it was kind of strange to have those two completely different genres next to each other. I emailed the narrator back asking if it were possible for her to label what book was associated with each code. That was several days ago with no response. Funnily enough, at the end of her original email, she stated if anyone was interested in erotica to let her know as she had codes for such books as well. I won’t be redeeming the remaining codes.

I’m not really a fan of erotica. Honestly, I find it boring. I love reading/listening to stories but need an actual storyline/real plot to follow as opposed to a vague plot that's more focused on sexual scenes than anything else. For example, there weren’t many details related to their worlds. Why did the aliens come to Earth? Why had humans been using rations or stuck inside small dwellings with lots of other people? Why were they only recently starting to come back out? Why was coffee seen as a luxury? Nothing was answered.

I know some people have fetishes involving tentacles, but I’m not one of them. I just thought that the whole aspect of his body was strange but in a what-the-heck-am-I-listening-to way. And I typically love strange.

A big area of the story I took issue with involved the alien's physical characteristics. We’re told he has two arms/legs and has a humanoid body. THOSE being the only human-like characteristics about them! Okay. Moving to the alien characteristics, we learn they have large oval eyes, color-changing skin, are really tall, and have backward knees. Got it! They do have a long tongue, lips, and sharp teeth. BUT!!! Based on the cover picture they look completely human! If they’re not going to look like humans, don’t use a human on the cover! Sorry but no.

Moving on...
On the first encounter, she’s sexually attracted to him based on his skin, his laugh, and uncertainty about buying coffee. 🤨 Okay... She sees his tongue and automatically wonders what he can do with it. 😕 So she’s looking at a supposedly inhuman-looking alien and wanting to get busy. Sure. I can't get over the backward knees. And with his first smile at the coffee shop, she’s getting horny, yet there are no real details surrounding his face/smile. Do they have a nose? Hair? Eyebrows? Ears? Who knows. He laughs but there are no details as to how it sounds. Does it sound like a human? Yet with all those details on his appearance (not really), she finds him handsome. 🙄

This is a perfect example of a story that’s vague and kind of all over the place when it comes to the emotions and actions of the characters that just leaves me annoyed and embarrassed for the author and those that like the story. The fact she was all eager to bear alien children (not knowing the alien, not knowing what the process would entail), and being fine knowing she’d have to give the children up... 😒

Funny scene: she goes to the embassy, and he shows up wearing a robe covered in medals. She thinks he looks hot. How so? Obviously I'm being sarcastic with it being a funny scene. She has all these emotions but there isn't enough to picture or figure out how/why she'd be feeling them.

Why have him as an alien when he pretty much acts like a human? He growls which is stereotypical of a man when making out/having relations. He’s eager to mess with her boobs. He’s into spooning. He knows how to kiss. He has no issues speaking English (no accent or uncertainty with words). He tells her she’s tight. What female wouldn’t be with multiple tentacles inside her? There’s nothing unique or unhuman-like about his actions (minus him using the tentacles).

Why did the author skip over the scene in which she could ask the female alien questions?

Then, she lays the eggs, the end. How could the story end like that? Did the author have to keep the story under a certain number of words? Is that why she randomly stopped there? I'm thinking so. Or are her readers/fans just not interested in the story aspect...of the story, only the relations? Based on the other reviews and all the five stars, I'm leaning toward that way as well.

When it came to the narrator... I’m not even sure what to say. I mean she narrated the story as though she were really excited about something. Like the story was so entertaining, she just couldn’t contain her emotions.

Cover Doesn’t Match... 👎

He’s NOT supposed to look that human, and supposedly with backward knees. Eww! Like a hairless Satyr? I couldn’t come up with an image that I found appealing. But Misha apparently did and accepted an out-of-the-blue invitation to breed one of the aliens. Debir met her in a coffee shop as he was attempting to understand human tastes. He liked her and decided to ask her to join the program that required her to breed with him once. In return she’ll get a house in a good neighborhood and have everything she ever needs for the rest of her life. Pretty good deal, huh? She accepts and has crazy tentacle alien sex that is so fantastic she’ll probably never leave him. But I’ll never know because the book ends when Misha produces eggs... all within a day. She’s apparently an host that speeds up the incubation process with the more sex she has. She had a lot.

It’s a good thing the narration was acceptable because I wouldn’t have enjoyed or even finished it if it wasn’t. But for an hour I was entertained.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. My review is HONEST.

Very Odd Yet Interesting

This book is definitely sci-fi erotica and not for the faint of heart. Rather than just being a short, enjoyable, erotic read it left me with more questions than anything.

I want to know more about the breeding process as in how do the children get any genetic material from the mother or is she just an incubator period? I much prefer more of a story line.

I realize with erotica you normally only get a bare bones story with sex, but this one left me wanting more of the story.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

hot sexy aliens!

this is a good short and sweet erotica for Him or Her. The voice performance is good and matches the characters. the only thing is that it gives a glimpse into a post invasion earth that I honestly want to know more about! it sounds like an interesting world but like so many of these short eroticas that side isn't paid off which is a shame

Filling Her With My Eggs

This was a fast paced erotic alien story. Still not real sure about the tentacles or a human laying eggs but enjoyed the story.

But what happens next?

So this is not going to be a book about epic romance. It is about two people who get together out of necessity. Debir wants to have kids and Misha wants to get out of poverty. After the invasion Misha has been living in a halfway house of a sorts. She just recently got a job and that is where she meets Debir. We do not really get much detail on the two just the basics. The ending was not fulfilling. I want to know what happens after the eggs are delivered. Lily Anton just left us wondering what now.

I wanted more!!

I honestly didn't go into this book with high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually pretty hot! It was written well and I enjoyed it. My only complaint it the abrupt ending. I want more! What happens next in the couple's story??

Michelle did a great job narrating this short story.
