Publisher's summary

Jules Montgomery is too busy and content with her life to worry about a man, especially one Nate McKenna. If growing up with four brothers has taught her anything, she knows to stay away from sexy men with tattoos and motorcycles. That goes double if he's your boss. During the one incredible night they shared, he violated the no fraternization policy...among other things, and it won't happen again. Jules won't risk her career for mind-blowing sex, no matter how much her body and her damn heart keep arguing with her. Nate McKenna could give a shit about the no fraternizing policy. He wants Jules and he'll have her.

The rules could bend around them, or be damned. He's not a man to be taken lightly, and Jules Montgomery is about to find out just how he responds to being pushed aside after the best night of sex he's ever had. She can fight all she wants, but he'll have her in his bed in the end. Fight With Me is the second novel in the With Me In Seattle Series.

Disappointing 2.5

I bought this book because of the great rating but I found this story lacking as the author really tries to pack it all in here: our heroine is a former Playboy model (yep, you heard me) who is a workout fiend with a perfect body (thanks to her "terrific DNA/genes" which she keeps mentioning over and over) and is rich and successful at her job. Our hero is a former fighter, covered in lotsa tattoos with long hair AND a piercing down there you know where under his expensive business suits. He is of course a millionaire with fancy cars, fancy houses with "minions" and a motorcycle too (are you still with me?) WOW!!! All that in one! Put your other books down! (no, sorry, he was never a rock star though) Funny bit: Our couple just can't get enough bike time in because as Nate bemoans, they always have too much stuff to take with them. Yes, because they are wealthy 20 something super yuppies-- can't have it all kids!

This book also amused me from the get go, no, not from all the sex, and there was plenty of it which I didn't mind, but from its mirror like similarities with that holy writ, "50 Shades". Let us count the ways:

-"God he smells good. Body wash and sex and Nate. It's a heady combination" -- I think that remark might just be word for word from 50 Shades!

-Nate's constant paranoia when he wakes up alone in bed that Jules has "run off and left him" ("Don't leave me again!")

-the best: Nate actually says-- "You. Are. Mine." Red Alert! You gotta be kidding me!!!

-Shopping carte blanche at Neiman Marcus (at least here our heroine LOVES fashion and shops a lot and wears nothing but Louboutins!)

-Our hero insists on calling our heroine by her formal full name when no one else does, much to her chagrin, but it becomes their thing

-HIs faded blue jeans hang low on his hips along with his bare feet, etc.

-Meals around the "breakfast bar" in his fab "thirty floor condo" (oopsie I guess she meant thirtieth floor condo, because that would be a mighty big condo)

-Cooking in his kitchen with her iPod plugged into his system.

The first person commentary on how HOT HOT HOT he is, she is, it is, is endlessly repetitive. That word and its constant overuse in books like this one have only made it an utterly powerless and hollow cliche already. And as other reviewers have noted the same "erotic" dialogue over and over of "you're so hot baby" "I need you now" "I need you inside me". hot hot Not. And by the way, why name the hero Nate when her best friend is named Nat/Natalie. Gets annoying and even confusing when Nat and Nate are having a chat...see what I mean? Phew!

I agree with many other reviewers that there is not much of a plot. What's driving this is will everyone at the office find out about their relationship as there is a no-fraternization policy. Yep, that's it. There are a few red flags-- the hot ex wife who keeps popping up, the suspicious coworker, but they don't lead to a heck of a lot.

I liked the character of Jules. She was smart and funny. And I really enjoyed her bff relationship with Natalie. And Jules's family was fun. I liked Nate but he was Impossible!! He's mostly all the tough Alpha things, but impossibly emotional and romantic and loving from the get go. Did he have a wound that drove him though? Nope. He has a blue collar type dad who owns a gym, and his mom died when Nate was 7, but that's all we get. And it's an unfortunate HUGE disappointment. So he wasn't too interesting. When he started lighting candles and getting the bathtub ready that's when I had to put the book down for a breather. It was too much-- even Jules was flipping out! Nice fantasy, but it was over the top, I was chuckling.

Fight With Me is one hot hot hot book!!

Fight With Me is the second book in the Seattle series by Kristen Proby and it is the love story of Jules and Nate. I gotta say that while I enjoyed the first book, this one is far better. I loved it! Fight With Me is a must listen for every romantic soul. It is heart-warming, full of swoon moments and a whole lot of sizzling scenes. We first met Jules in Come Away With Me, book one in the series, as Natalie’s roommate and best friend. Jules comes off as a feisty and independent woman who lives her life for her and takes what she wants. Nate is Jules’ boss and he is someone that ignites every cell in her body and sets her on fire. The problem is that the law firm both Nate and Jules work for has a strict no fraternization policy. Nate and Jules have one incredible night of passion which scares Jules. Unwilling to deal with the regret over the incredible night, Jules ends up sneaking off while Nate is asleep and then ignores him in the following weeks until he stops trying to talk to her about that one night. For eight months Jules and Nate have managed to keep it strictly professional pretending that nothing ever happened between them. Nate becomes sick and tired of not having what he wants and he wants Jules. Have I mentioned how delicous Nate is...let's just say... tattoos, gray eyes, ex-UFC fighter, a piercing, now a senior partner in a law firm.... um....YUM! He decides to take matters into his own hands and has Jules come into his office one day. There he makes her an irresistible offer. Nate asks Jules to spend the entire weekend with him, with no strings attached, in order for them to get to know one another better. Jules does not have enough strength in her to turn Nate down. So ensues the beginning of their secret and steamy romance. Jules and Nate were simply perfect for one another. Nate pursues Jules with a relentless determination. This book is the perfect blend of sweet & sexy. If you’re looking for a truly perfect HEA; you’re going to devour this book.

Nate Nate Nate

What can I say about Jules and Nate....I love their story. The heat between the couple is smokin' hot; they are both strong characters who have to learn to work together through all the hickups. I kept waiting for the shoe to drop and their relationship to be exposed and I was surprised by how it came about. Not what I was expecting. This was well worth acredit or purchase.

No Way No How

This one was a wee bit better than the first in the series, but the author is lacking in development of the story line. As a listener or a reader, I just wasn't drawn into the lives of these two characters. It's sad, because the story line has the capability of being quite good if written better. So, no. I wouldn't recommend. The narrator is inconsistent in her reading. She sounds child like often times. Worse in the first book than this one.

Bored to tears...

Perfect in every way heroine? Check.

Perfect in every way hero? Check.

Plenty of big and totally unnecessary misunderstandings? Check.

Most boring book on earth? Check.

I am literally scratching my head over the many awesome ratings and am frankly disbelieving that this many readers thought this an even half-way decent book.

Don't waste your time or money on this tripe when there are so many other good books out there.

I had no problem with the narrator by the way.

Boring...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Add a lot more friction between characters, there was NONE, making the entire story boring. The female lead was to perfect as well...

What does Jennifer Mack bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think she did the best she could with what she had...

Could you see Fight With Me being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

NO.

My second favorite...

Would you listen to Fight With Me again? Why?

Yes. It was a fun story with interesting characters and some very entertaining and hot scenes.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jules. She has gumption... I liked Nate but I thought he should have had more of an edge based on how he was described.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Good overall performance. The narrator has trouble remembering what male voice she used for what character. I am glad they picked up a male narrator later in the series.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not suitable for children under the age of seventeen. :-)

I rolled my eyes so much that I pulled a muscle

I couldn’t even finish this book because the characters were so unbelievable. By the halfway point the lead, who is in her mid-20’s, mind you, is:
• An intelligent woman with a high level job in an unnamed industry that pays her so well that she drives a Lexus and has a designer wardrobe, (but perhaps she can afford these luxuries because her best friend, another rich, successful 20-something, basically gave her a house?);
• So loved and doted on by her friends and family that they turned her best friends baby shower into a surprise birthday party for her so that they could shower her in gifts (because the multiple bouquets of flowers that she received on her actual birthday weren’t enough for a grown woman’s birthday);
• Is not just a stunning bombshell with perfect hair and skin, long legs, a tiny waist, and big boobs, but she’s also SUPER FIT, so much so that when the male lead takes her to an all-male boxing/MMA-style gym, (IDK, it was in a warehouse), she is able to impress all of the nameless men in the gym by doing pull-ups and having a smart-mouth, (does constantly saying she’s going to beat up her boyfriend and calling him Ace constitute as having a smart-mouth?);
• And if all of that wasn’t enough for our Fembot lead, she was also a Playboy centrefold a few times. For fun! She obviously doesn’t need the money!

So what I’m trying to say is if your thing is unrealistic robot women and hot, but kind of creepy, billionaires that do nothing but have sex and fall in love a week later, this is your book! 11/10 would recommend! Enjoy!

But if that’s not your jam, read and your own risk. You’ve been warned.

Hunky Alpha Nate - Send him my Way, PLEASE !!

Any additional comments?

Jules Montgomery is attracted to her boss Nate McKenna. The problem is, nothing can ever happen because of the no-fraternization policy. But it did, a year ago. They had a one-night stand and after Jules leaves his apartment, they have been professional with each other ever since. Nate no longer wants to be professional, he wants more and for a lot longer than one night. He wants her any way he can get her. He just needs to convince her to take a chance.

Jules Montgomery was an independent sassy woman. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to work hard to get it. She is confident and intelligent. I really liked her. She never overwhelmed me with her attitude. In fact, I liked how comfortable she was in her own skin. She knows she is beautiful but doesn't act conceited because of it. She had a good balance of sexy badass and feminine chic going on. I loved how determined she was to keep her independence and work hard at her office job. She also is tough and can take care of herself, VERY well. Did she ever annoy me - Yeah, a few times. There were moments she seemed to run away from her problems rather than face them which was a bit frustrating. She could at times be a bit stubborn too. But overall, she was a great character.

Now Nate McKenna is one huge ass sexy HOTTIE!! Boy, did this man melt my panties. He was an alpha and protective. He had tattoos and a pierced cock. He was UBER sexy - He was also really intelligent and dedicated to his work. He is a bit of a bad boy with a dirty mouth but SO freaking sweet and romantic. I wanted to lick him up. I loved how determined he was to make Jules his. The things he would say and do made me absolutely SWOON! BUT... he was not perfect. Nope, he could at times piss me off. He wanted to take care of Jules, which is fine by me, but he could be overbearing at times. He was bossy and also got upset a tad to quickly.

The sex in this book was Super Sexy without it ever feeling like it was too much sex. We got a story that was really great and some great steamy scenes, a perfect balance. The ending was really great. All and all this was a grate listen, I loved it :)

SOME GIRLS HAVE ALL THE LUCK

It's got a hunky handsome Hero, it's full of sex, it's romantic, it's got passion, it's got dramas and it's got some great characters and, as with all her books that I've listened to in the Seattle series, I've loved every one.

Told from the Heroine's POV except for the Epilogue and the narration was great.

Worth a credit? It's got a little too much sex vs plot but I'm not complaining and YES creditworthy.
