Publisher's summary

On a routine trip to gather supplies in a nearby town, the trio picks up another member who adds a much-needed contrast to their own personalities. His skills and attitude will round out the group, bringing them all closer together and making survival a little easier - and much more interesting. Disturbed by a few startling revelations they find during their scouring, Dan begins to probe into the notebooks discovered at a previous looting spree in order to find answers. His quest for the truth brings shocking revelations that make the end of the world even stranger and more horrifying than it was before.

This third installment of Wormwood Dawn will shatter the age-old formula and drive the apocalypse into a dark and terrifying direction that knows no bounds.

SUPER GREAT SERIES!!

What did you love best about Wormwood Dawn, Episode III?

This was a really good addition to the series...I liked all of it!!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wormwood Dawn, Episode III?

When they find out that the serial killer is still out there!

Have you listened to any of Clifford Edwards’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This series...and it's great!!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This would make a great movie series!

Any additional comments?

This was a very exciting episode in this series! The guys get a new addition Vincent...and all seems to be going pretty, then they learn that the sicko serial killer is still alive and get attacked by the militia, Dan gets shot, his friends get captured and Dan may have been captured too, but not by the same person that got his friends...I think Dan is in worse trouble than they are!!! Cant wait for Ep 4!!!!!

I thought I was ready for Episode III, I wasn't.

Follow this motley crew of survivors as they enter town to pick up more supplies, find new mutations, and fight for their lives in the third installment of Wormwood Dawn.

I have to start this off by saying that I think that Clifford Edwards has done a bang-up job on Episodes 1 and 2, but the sound quality was a little rough. EPISODE 3 SOUNDS AMAZING!!!! With that off my chest... wait, no one more time. This sounds absolutely perfect. I had no issues with this episode at all. Edwards is a natural when it comes to narrating the main character and his buddies. I can tell that the author has had some say in how each is narrated because the style he chooses for each fits perfectly.

The story was crazy, and I've been promised that it just keeps getting more and more insane. Crae can really write, and this episode really proves that. I usually don't like episodic fiction, but I've been really enjoying this series. The bite-sized treats feel just like that -- a treat. I don't feel like I've overindulged and now I can't move. Each new episode provides a perfect story arc and it doesn't feel like anything has been left out of waiting for the next story. That is not easy to pull off.

The new character was an interesting addition and I welcomed it with open arms. The new "creatures" scared me a lot, and I had to take some time before I went to bed so that I wouldn't have nightmares about them.

A lot of times I can tell how a story arc is going to conclude, and I tell you I couldn't tell for all three episodes I've read... and I have absolutely no idea how Crae is going to end the full series either. This is a balls-to-the-wall, off road blitzkrieg of a story and series. (If I thought another adjective could fit there I would have put one). Crae is not afraid of anything, and you can tell in the way he writes his stories.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

Gets better and better!

I'm going to start this one of by saying that this episode of the serial was the best so far, both story wise and narration wise. Now Clifford Edwards did a great job with each of the ones he narrated but the production quality was very echoey. This ones production was flawless, thank goodness. Now there were echoey parts but they were used to demonstrate thoughts but this is really well narrated. Well done to the narrator for developing and evolving!!

Now onto the story. It's really hard to say anything about this without spoiling it, so all I'm going to say is that it just keeps getting better and better!! We have another new character, and there are some truly shocking discoveries made!! Poor Dan just doesn't get any breaks and again, I'm left waiting and I need the next installment ASAP!

This author is definitely one to check out. He has such an amazing writing style and can truly tell a great story. I hope this is bundled into a full collection so I can experience the full story together.

*I received a copy of this for review. This in no way affected my thoughts.*

I am addicted to this series!!!

I must admit, I purchased the paperback version. As soon as I started to read it, the audio version came out and I finished it up that way. While I did receive this copy free in exchange for a honest review, I enjoyed it so much that I bought the paperback version and had it rush delivered to my house! I was not disappointed at all. As someone who reads tons of apocalyptic books, it has become increasingly difficult to run across one that isn't the "same old, same old" and I love the different aspects that this talented author has brought to the table. I highly recommend!

Wormwood Dawn is a Terrific Serial

WORMWOOD DAWN, EPISODE III is another excellent installment in the Apocalyptic Series. I feel as if I know the characters which makes it all the more better. I like the way the author, EDWARD CRAE, introduces us to a new character with each installment. I think he's building up to something huge. He draws the listener in and for me, I feel as if I'm right there with the guys. I love his writing style and I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to listen to this series thus far which segues me to the narration that's undeniably fantastic.

CLIFFORD EDWARDS does an outstanding job reading this story. He has the perfect voice for the characters. His voice inflections are spot on and he is, bar none, a very skilled voice actor. One of the best. This is a perfect fusion of author/narrator and definitely recommended listening.

Awesome and Addictive

I love this post-apocalypse series. The characters Dan and Drew are crazy and draw you in that you hate it when it ends. New characters are being added. Highly recommend this fun, exciting and humorous listen. This audiobook was provided by the narrator and THANK YOU!! Keep them coming!

Just gets better!

What did you love best about Wormwood Dawn, Episode III?

These characters are just so 'real' that the story is fab and this episode is by far the best as things come to a real head for the group...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wormwood Dawn, Episode III?

There have been a few good memorable moments throughout the series so far. I have to say that Dan's own internal transformation is starting to rock. He started out such a loser, that bumbled along with his life and he really made you feel sorry for his stupid life, but here he is fighting for survival with friends, and friends he now cares about. What a change in his whole attitude.

What does Clifford Edwards bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Again, just the whole tone and characterisation of all the characters, he does a great job with them. Personality and flare.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I listened to all three in three days. I drive for a living, and can listen to 4 hours or more a day, this was a great way to spend my time. :)

Any additional comments?

Okay, so some major thoughts here.... I can't not say that the recording quality difference was apparent from ep 1 and 2 to this one. But, it certainly doesn't detract from the effort by the narrator or the written story. In all honesty I actually think it added to the ambience of the world Edward created.

I also have to admit here, that because I listened to them all at once, 3 days in a row, I can't remember which Ep certain key moments are in, but I'll mention the ones that stick in my mind the most.

The fact that Dan is a loser and a drunken one at that, is kinda hard to get into at first, he really doesn't help himself at all be being as he is. His life seems so meaningless and his outlook is pretty bleak. But he's funny, and that carries him, I like his attitude even though it is pretty selfish. Drink or pills, and I'm kinda glad he changed his mind and went for the pills. I actually don't read the blurbs or other reviews, so when it started off, I had no real clue it was a proper horror/zombie story.

The sickness is awful and described very well, makes you feel yuk yourself. What I liked about this one more than anything is that Dan's now got a friend and I don't mean the cat... although that was one horrible and scary darned cat, you know :( I felt sorry for it, can understand why Dan did too.

EP 2 This is a more interesting Ep because of Drew, and the bulletin board, meeting Jake is very cool, the dog also, although I was worried it would end up like the cat. There are some amazing creepy things going on with the whole world. The cat, the fact the horse is bitten and we know it's going to turn, (just when) and then the psycho serial killer whose house they burn down. Gee what a neighbourhood this guy lives in, I kinda think no wonder he was a drunk.

The third guy they team up with while out getting supplies is sad, he loses his brother here and that does suck. They're really up against a lot of crap here and now and it really hits the fan towards the ending when the rogue military groups turn up and start to blast his house apart. However we think that he's going to be captured, and he's not, it's this psycho killer who nabs him, the one whose diary he's been reading and finding out about, the shocking truth is that he's alive and changing! into what we've no idea, but it's not looking good for Dan if he's ended up in this guys clutches....

So, overall I really enjoyed these so far, I was given them so I'd provide honest feedback, and I have, however, I'm now off to buy the next installment! haha.

Thank you very much Clifford and Edward for a very entertaining few days. :)

Better and better boys!

Listened for review and loved this installment. Production quality is fine now which helped loads. I've listened to the first two and enjoy the twist on the zombie theme. Dan and Drew would be a ball to hang out with or kill zombies with but watch out for serial killers. Love it!
