a good one in this Florida Key's adventure series

Steven Becker's "Wood's Reach" is the sixth in the Mac Travis series. It starts out with Mac working on Wood's off grid half acre island in the Florida Keys. Being an introvert myself, that island is seriously my favorite thing of all time and has been the focus of quite a few of my daydreams lately. When the house was damaged in one of the previous books, I literally wailed aloud.

This plot hinges around clues (tattoo's) that were touched upon in the first book "Wood's Relic". Don't worry if you're starting off with "Reach" - this book explains anything you need to know but really, I recommend this entire series. I rarely finish a series (I get distracted easily) but this is one of the few I've thoroughly loved.
The list of characters in "Wood's Reach" includes Trufante, TJ and Alisha. Cajun Trufante has a new female friend (of course) who is another character who fits right in down in the Keys. "Wood's Reach" is a bit happier than the previous two books. "Wreck" and "Harbor" weren't bleak by any means, just a shit storm for Mac, Trufante and Mel.

Paul J McSorley is a wonderful narrator who's pacing and dictation works well with this series and his voice fits the outdoorsman Mac Travis.

If you're a fan of Cussler, I really recommend this series.

Mac is lucky

Another great story in a great series. Mac always seems to be in the thick of trouble, but always figures out a way to get out of his issues, but always creates more problems for himself. It will be interesting to see where this story will lead in the next book. I also tip my hat to the narrator as Paul McSorley did a great job as he’s done in the past with these characters in the previous stories.
