Publisher's summary

Aticus, a diseased lycanthrope, returns to Louisiana where, 170 years ago, a conflict with a plantation owner made him lose his eye and his soul mate. He is back with a vengeance. His twisted vision of dominance has him infecting the small town of Royal Bay and surrounding parishes, amassing an army of werewolves to get revenge on humankind. A group of survivors including another lycanthrope, a reporter, police officers, and a werewolf hunter all must survive the night the moon travels closest to Earth, where, with Aticus' help, the first great werewolf returns to flesh and infects the world.

I love the long & descriptive nature of this audio

I met the author at a book signing at six mile library and Mikhail turned me on to the audiobook. It is narrated by the author's wife because of his obvious speech impediment. His wife is obvious NOT a professional narrator BUT I love WEREWOLVES and this audio has alot of them in all different forms.

A lot of werewolves, in all forms

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

if you are prone to short, faster paced Audible this might not be for you… But if you love werewolves I would advise you to stick it out to the end with this one as you will not be disappointed. I love a long epic. The prologue is over an hour long but after that the fun begins. An interesting take to an old myth as the infection begins as if it was a zombie virus.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Danielle Kerrigan?

It’s clear she’s NOT a professional narrator. I assume the author’s wife another Kerrigan was narrating for the Author. I must say the narrator Did a good job of keeping up with the author’s almost poetic word play some of the more technical and scientific terminology. More sound effects. Any professional narrator would've been preferred but all in all it wasn’t bad.

Did Wolf's Blood inspire you to do anything?

Any additional comments?

This Audible was really long but extremely descriptive…IF love werewolves I would advise you to stick it out to the end with this one as you will not be disappointed.
lots of werewolves, this Audible has packs of them. I love a long epic. The story takes place over a couple of centuries and follows a heartbroken werewolf on the path for revenge. There were many characters in this audio and you will meet a lot of new people in diverse situations who mostly all end up infected themselves. You can tell he put lots of research into myth and lore and blended them. The span of the book happens over several centuries and I must say the author could beautifully distinguish each period with captivating words and imagery.
There were small editing issues in the e-book but not a distraction from the story. The audio Version cleaned up much of that. This is a tale encompassing revenge. I must warn you if you are prone to faster paced audio I would advise you to stick it out to the end with this one as you will not be disappointed.

This audible was extremely long and descriptive

What did you love best about Wolf's Blood?

This audible was extremely long and descriptive which I tend to enjoy. I could tell that the narrator was extremely new her pitch was all but I could get past that. It took me a day and half to complete this audio but it was rather entertaining and well worth the listen. The span of the audio happens over several centuries and I must say the author could beautifully distinguish each period with captivating words and imagery. Despite the narration, it was not a distraction from the story, in my opinion. The author did an excellent job of transporting me into a time I never knew existed but it read for as though this time could be now and a reality. I must say again I was thoroughly entertained. This is a tale encompassing revenge in which the reader is taken on the journey as an accomplice. I loved the myriad of characters in this audio.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Aticus; Definitely!

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Beware: Humans are not head of the food chain anymore!

Any additional comments?

I must warn you if you are prone to faster paced audio I would advise you to stick it out to the end with this one as you will not be disappointed.

Don't waste your credit

What disappointed you about Wolf's Blood?

I didn't get past an hour or so of this, the narrator was just terrible. An audiobook isn't about having someone read to you in a monotone voice, it's actually a talent, which this one does not have. Sometimes I can get past a bad performance if it's a great story .... Nothing about this was interesting or worthy of me continuing. Complete waste of a credit.

Horrible narration

Some times nepotism isn't the way to go. Got through 30 mins and couldn't go any further. Could be a great book but the narration killed it.
