Publisher's summary

Aggressive, physical, and brave, Jake Owens is a small town football hero turned big city cop who passes his time with meaningless encounters believing he can't have who he really wants: Nate Richardson, his best friend since before forever. Thoughtful, quiet, and kind, Nate is a brilliant doctor who has always known who he is and has never been able to shake his crush on loyal, courageous, straight Jake.

After a passionate night together, Nate realizes Jake isn't as straight as he assumed, but he worries that what they shared was a fluke, a result of too much closeness for too long. For Jake, the question isn't how they ended up in bed together because he has always known that Nate holds his heart; it's how he'll convince Nate that he wants and needs to stay there.

Any additional comments?

I truly enjoyed the audiobook version of Where He Ends and I Begin. The narrator did a really great job of demonstrating the intense emotion both Jake and Nate express for each other, and he really gives the listener a good visual of the scenes-especially the intimate scenes, which you'll want to have your headphones in to listen to if you're out in public. Seriously.

As far as the recording goes, the voices did come across as deeper than my other audiobooks, deep and reverberating enough that I needed to adjust the bass settings in my car as I listened while driving. But other than that, this is a great recording of the narration...it really gave life to the deep connection between the main characters and solidified my opinion that the two of them could never be without each other.

fitting end to my reading of this series

Any additional comments?

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I Dig Good Books, I was gifted my ebook copy of this book.

Jake and Nathaniel have been best friends since the day they were born, quite literally. Indeed, their earliest memories, BOTH of them, is their 3rd birthday party looking over their cake. Identical memories. Jake is straight and Nate is gay. When Nate loses his temper and tells Jake what he wants, they take their relationship to the next level, to the next stratosphere! Seems Jake isn't as straight as Nate thinks.

I loved that, right from the start, they were in a relationship. There are flash backs and memories that is the build up to that very first scene, you sort of get it backwards. I enjoyed that, watching them grow, make decisions that affect them both, or the other, but not actually telling them about it. Awesome writing there, CC. I love that they both throw themselves utterly, completely, and totally into their new life together.

It is in the first person from both Jake and Nate's POV, but I didn't mind it here, its not why I knocked the star off. I knocked it off for one reason and one alone: in some places, we get the same scene from both men. Not just the general gist of it, but entire conversations. It got a bit annoying reading the same thing twice.

Other than that, another fine instalment of the Home Series. This is book three, but its the last one I'm reading. They can be read in order, but equally, out of order, as I did. Characters from previous and future books pop up in books, and its fun catching up with them before AND after their own books.

4 stars.

I was given the opportunity to review this book in AUDIO, and I was gifted my audio copy of this book. Alexander Collins narrates.

I like Collins' reading voice, I do. Its easy to listen to and I don't *usually* have any issues with his words clashing with my hearing problem.

BUT!

This book is again written in the first person and flips from Nate and Jake. I didn't notice it so much when reading, but here? Listening?? Noticed it, a lot more than when reading. Collins' reading voice for both characters is again quite similar, not as similar as in Walk With Me for Seth and Eli, but still enough to make sure I had to leave the book at the end of a chapter to get right back to the character I needed to when I came back. Still not sure if it's me, or his voices. But going to knock a bit off for it.

Also, the doubling up of the scenes really stood out here. I mentioned it in my READ review, as the reason I knocked a star off. I'm not knocking anything off the NARRATION ratings for, because Collins' is just reading whats there.

I stand by what I said in the review for Walk With Me, I still want to listen to something else by Collins in the third person. Even if its just single POV.

Still, all in all, it was good to catch up with Jake and Nate again.

4 stars for the book
4.5 for the narration
4.25 overall.

SOOOO.. IN LOVE!

Cardeno C. its just awesome.. this story was so well written. So full of love... Im such a fool for stories in wich the characters have always love each other but don't know it.

The way you can get a glimpse at what both of them feel is just amazing. And the narration was just so according.. the change in the narrator's voice on every situation just had me so drown in the story I felt sad when it ended. I wanted to keep listening.

One of my best purcharses for sure!

Sweet and OH-SO-HOT!!

Any additional comments?

Where He Ends and I Begin is a super-hot sexy, no angst, sweet and fluffy romance about two best friends who become lovers and are, at their core, soul mates.

~~
"We've always been almost like one person. I've never known where he ends and where I begin."
~~

Told in Jake and Nate's alternating dual POV, we learn Jake and Nate have been best friends literally from birth. Their mothers were the only girls in their big families and became best friends as children, sharing their lives together, marrying within weeks of each other, getting pregnant at the same time, and even giving birth on the same day.

From the moment Jake and Nate were placed together in the hospital basinet they've been together. They've never really spent any time apart, nor wanted to. That doesn't mean they're the same, though. Jake is rough, tough and can be a dick, and Nate is sweet, smart and almost always kind. Even though Jake can be a tough nut he has always treated Nate like gold. Mainly because it turns out Jake has been in love with Nate all his life, but never known how to really tell Nate that his "love" isn't a platonic brotherly love, but that he's actually "in love" with Nate.

It took me a little to get into the swing of the story. It's not only told in dual POV, in the beginning the same scene is replayed from both perspectives, which had me a little off balance. Once I got used to it though, I enjoyed seeing how each man dealt with a situation, and what his inner thoughts on it were.

I enjoyed Alexander Collin's narration for the story. He has a way of pulling me in and keeping me charmed throughout. He really made me believe Nate's reluctance to believe that the one man he's always wanted really does want him back and this isn't a fluke, or a fling. I loved Collin's depiction of Jake, who's determined to make sure Nate knows he's in this relationship for the long haul and that he loves him totally and unconditionally.

I absolutely love the emotion and romance in this; the way they both so vulnerable in different ways, the way Jake takes care of Nate, and how they both interact with one another...it just absolutely made me melt.

I also love all the sex. And a friendly warning: there is a lot of sex. I don't think there's a single chapter without some, and it's all SUPER HOT. I listened to this at work, and I was blushing.

Bottom line: Narration is good, the story is HOT, and I loved all the sweetness!

Jake and Nate

Jake and Nate belonged together. From the first day to the last. The changing points of view show so much of what the other guy was missing, misunderstanding, or just plain didn't know anything about. Jake comes across as the angry aggressive guy, but his actions time and time again prove that he loves Nate completely. He saves Nate over and over again all while keeping him from finding out. Nate longs for Jake but an assumption that Jake is straight keeps them apart. The absolute joy comes through when they come together. It takes Nate a bit to get over his fear that Jake will eventually give him up. Jake made me adore him, even more, when he kept showing Nate that he would never hide him, never deny who Nate was to him, never give up on them but spend every day proving that Nate was the only one for him. The ending was perfect and the bonus material made me smile.
Highly recommended author and series

Great Book

I absolutely loved the storyline of this book about two friends who grew up together and then later found love together. The only drawback for me was the narration. I thoroughly enjoyed the narrator's voice however sometimes it was difficult to differentiate between the characters he was playing.
