But when she is cast from the social registers due to her father's illegal dealings, she finds herself forced into a role she never imagined: tutoring rough Kansas ranchers in the subjects of manners and morals so they can "marry up" with their mail-order brides. Mack Cleveland, whose father was swindled by a mail-order bride, wants no part of the scheme to bring Eastern women to Spiveyville, Kansas, but as time goes by, his heart goes out to the teacher.

Good lessons on making assumptions
Interesting story. It would have been better if the author hasn't drawn out the misassumptions by the main character until the end. However, we look forward to listening to the other books in this series.

Enjoyable and heart warming
Kim captured the family dynamics very well when secrets are woven into relationships. Only one flaw in the writing. The author could have done better research. Big round bales of hay weigh 8-12 hundred lbs. At least any baler I have seen. ...so...300 lbs seems laughable. It is always disappointing when facts are incorrect in a story. But don't let that deter you from enjoying this story. It is a gem!!

A very good listen
I've not listened to Mennonite stories before, but this first book left me wanting to hear more. I will keep checking back to see if the next book appears.

excellent story and performace
I loved this book! It was touching beautiful and engaging! I couldn't stop listening. The narrator added such emotion and suspense to this book that I was moved and I can't wait for the next book in the series to be released.
