Publisher's summary

In the Frederick Douglass Housing Projects, the name of Jada Butler is synonymous with drama. But there is about to be a new contender to the throne of ghetto antics.

Malika is a young, single mother trying to make a life in public housing. When she meets Teddy, she has new hope for the future. The only problem is, he’s already married.

Gucci’s fiancé is now a rising star in the music industry. She’s thrilled when his tour brings him to New York. But she doesn’t know it’s more than music bringing him back.

After her apartment mysteriously burns down, Tionna is relocated to a plush high rise in Upper Manhattan. She is pulling her life together when a ghost from her past appears.

Don is making money hand over fist with the artists he’s signed to Big Dawg Entertainment. Just when he thinks his life can’t get any sweeter, someone tries to take it.

So Much Suspense!! What a great follow up to the Hood Rat series and characters! It was so good hearing the different story lines and making the connections from the previous books. Can’t wait to hear the continuation… Now on to EVICTION NOTICE!!

Very good!

This is the audiobook that had me going back searching for more "urban" themed audiobooks! I love the characters and their hustle! Although the book has "graphic" language, it suited the situation and the type of environments the characters were coming from. I truly enjoyed listening to it and by the end, I wasn't disappointed and felt it was money well spent!

crazy

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes because it had a lot of realistic situations and it was very entertaining.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked it when rock head got what was coming to him because it was wrong for him to be purposefully infecting those young girls with h.i.v.

Have you listened to any of Cary Hite’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. He is a great narrator. All of his narrations are great.

Who was the most memorable character of Welfare Wifeys and why?

Animal because he's a beast.

Cary hite !!

I love this book I read the hard copy. I HATE the way Cary hite narrates most books but this one ESPECIALLY bothered me. The way he slurs animals S words with an ‘sh’. It’s super annoying, especially because the narrator in the last book didn’t do this & they also said he had a “soft voice” . It’s super annoying I don’t know why they use Cary hite so often but he deters me from buying books sometimes
