Publisher's summary

England’s bravest monarch, history’s deadliest outlaw, this year’s greatest adventure.

May 1194: Richard the Lionheart is in Normandy, locked in a long and bloody war with the French. By his side are Robert Odo, Earl of Locksley - the former outlaw Robin Hood - and Sir Alan Dale, Robin's protégé, a musician and warrior of great renown.

As battles rage and bodies pile up, Alan embarks on a mission to track down the man who ordered his father's death 10 years earlier. But the trail leads him to Paris, deep in the heart of enemy territory - where even Robin might not be able to rescue him.

From the dank, witch-haunted depths of Sherwood to the high castles of Aquitaine, from stinking dungeons of medieval Paris to the blood-stained chivalry of the Battle of Gisors, Robin and Alan must prove their mettle as lords of war, defeat their shadowy enemy and win glory for themselves and their lionhearted king.…

From internationally best-selling author Angus Donald comes the most spectacular historical adventure of the year.

Good story tying in some details

Another good story about robin hood. Nice to see someone imagining what came next for the band of merry men.

Another great in the story of Alan

Another excellent story Donald has woven the fictional Alan with the factual time period of King Richard and the endless pursuits of land and treasure, and including historical castles in their glory. Donald does not disappoint. If you enjoy sagas and one written from the unique perspective of a man reflecting upon his glorious younger days this story and series are just right for you. I am already off to begin listening to Grail Knight. Enjoy!

Loved this book!

Narration was even better than the previous book. I was totally enthralled with the story and didn't want it to end.

great addition to the series can't wait for next

once again Alan, Robin andb the gang follow King Richard around Europe fighting battles, taking cities and castles! Although, this book stays in with a bit more conspiracy and mysteries of the Templars which involved Alan's father and so obviously he sucked into a dangerous and hidden world beneath the surface of the Christian warrior cause....including the Holy Grail!

No enough Robin Hood

Good story but too much about Allen a pious wavering Christian who's self righteous antics get tiresome
