Publisher's summary

Sprawling and magnificent, the outback is the territory of jackaroos and convicts, kangaroos and koalas. Many a man is captivated by the lure and mystery of the unending wilderness, but few possess the strength and daring to tame the savage land.

A brilliant young doctor, Stephen Brendell, loves the continent his forebears died trying to conquer, and he vows to use his skills helping settlers survive. Roaming from the teeming cities to the uncharted interior, he carves a life as tempestuous and unbounded as Australia itself.

A woman of wealth and privilege, Deirdre Kerrick has the courage to venture into unknown regions without a second thought. But when the heir to her family's sheep station lies dying, she fears their shining destiny will be destroyed until she finds the one man who can save their future and win her heart.

Depressing, depressing!!

Too much gloom and doom and supernatural references to suit me. Nothing like Walk About. Narrator excellent.

I recommend the whole series.

I loved this whole series, it’s a thrill to be able to finish one, oh, there’s another!
This is a wonderful book (s). We follow the lives of 2 families with a host of other people coming and going out of their lives and the story’s,
There’s a lot of excitement and learning abou the biggest character, AUSTRALIA and the OUTBACK. The character intertwine, ideas on how to makes lives easier, ice, can ou imagine having no ice in the heat of Australia! I loved it and highly recommend this whole series.
(One family’s trait is very light blue eyes, the day I finished the last book. About an hour later I met a man who had very blue eyes!)
