Talk about an abrupt teasing cliffhanger! I guarantee Tate ended it there on purpose! At first my brain got angry at Logan for the pause but then the ending info for the audiobook sounded and I wanted to scream. Given that my hubs is sound asleep next to me and its 11:38 PM, I refrained but barely! Once I processed the evilness of that ending, I realized Tate must be at fault. Being a cock tease, he clearly set us up! (Or Ella Frank is a sadist! Not sure which!)

Can I say, HOT DAMN these two had me gasping , grunting, and turning to my hubs for attention! (I know TMI but trust me when I say you need to be prepared!)

Try is all kinds of erotic tension, lust, and I dare say feels! Tate is exactly the kind of person I like, probably because I'm Logan to a T. The chemistry between these two is insanely explosive. Hot lava feels like AC when these two grapple. Fanning oneself is a necessity.

Also to avoid uncomfortable situations, do not listen to this on your way to work! Trust me! Wet panties first thing in the morning is awkward! There's also trying to explain to coworkers why the volume setting on your vehicle is so high that they can here sex scenes across the parking lot. Which might not have been so awkward if they weren't straight guys confused about a "lady listening to gay porn!" Lol. Water cooler talk will be awkward for awhile but only until I finish book 2 and can tell them what happened!

Wish me luck! I need answers on Tate and Logan can give me!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tate is my favorite character. He is strong, sexy and honest.

Have you listened to any of Shannon Gunn’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Mr. Gunn's narration was wonderful. His voices were clear, distinctive and in some instances sexy as sin.

Who was the most memorable character of Try and why?

Tate is most memorable but Logan was awesome too. Its hard to chose because Ella Frank wrote a fantastic book with two strong, real men.

Any additional comments?

I do not usually write reviews but I felt complelled to do so because this book was fantastic. I wanted to start re-reading the book as soon as I finished it. If you think you won't like it based on the synopsis I promise you your wrong. It was worth 3 credits!!! Book 2 better come out on audible soon.

A very steamy sexy well written story. I can’t wait to hear the next book of this series “Take”.

The romance is great. But I kinda not like the voice of the narrator gave to Tate. It sounded weird and a little dumb...

I had read this series sometime ago. And while I loved the book, the narrator ruined it for me.

This book kept my attention. I love these guys. I cried when Tate’s sister went crazy on him. That nasty ex-wife of his. Can’t wait for the next book.

Audiobook...
while I imagined Logan as the one with the deeper voice, Shannon Gunn did a fabulous job narrating this book!

Book review...

HOLY COW... where to start?? Logan is a sexy as f*ck lawyer and an equal-opportunity lover. Tate is a HOT, motorcycle riding, STRAIGHT bartender.

Tate is the new employee at the bar that Logan frequents. When they meet, Logan sees Tate as a tantalizing challenge. Tate learns that Logan has slept with most of women he works with and a few of the men too. Tate finds it very disconcerting that he finds himself unable to stop thinking about Logan and eventually he comes to terms with the fact that he is sexually attracted to Logan.

This book is about Tate examining his feelings for another man and Logan who, for only the second time in his life, is beginning to have strong feelings for another person. The sexual tension between them in the beginning is HOT! When they finally decide to 'try', their banter before and after their 'encounters' is so sexually charged that I HAD to reread this book as soon as I was done with it. There is no major 'story' other than each exploring new feelings and , honestly, I LOVED it that way. I think anything more would have diminished the heat between them. There were a couple of 'bumps' in their relationship but the issues were resolved fairly quickly (which I also loved). There was a slight cliff-hanger at the end but I didn't think it was too major.

Pacing: It’s a lot faster than I was expecting actually, YET weirdly slow?
It’s an ‘on the fence’ type of pace, not sure if I like it or not. But also all of Tate’s decisions were made up pretty fast, but then again I’m one of those people who are able to make a decision quickly bad well lol

Suspense: 3.5 (maybe 4-ish)/5

The story is kind of addictive in it own way and I would like to see where it will go, but this is more of a back burner series for me, not in a bad way it more of a when I need to relax and focus on something calmly engaging, this is the series to continue reading or reread.

My biggest issue overall is not necessarily the narration but kinda the writing style, Listening wise especially in the beginning if you weren’t visibly liking at the page as you listened, POV of either state or Logan was hard to decipher and I had to listen to the beginning 3 or 4 times to correctly identify who was who cause when POV changed it was so swift that if you didn’t focused on it you would miss the POV change and wonder why the character was talking in third person.
Other than that the Narrator did pretty well, I would gladly listen to Book 2 in audiobook as well ☺️

This is probably my 3rd time listening to this book, and it still hits me just as hard. Logan is one of the partners/owners at Mitchell and Madison Law Firm. He is use to getting what and who he wants. Tate is starting his life over and in the middle of a divorce with his wife. Logan spots Tate ( new bartender) at After Hours and instantly wants him. However Tate has always been straight. Logan won't give up that easy. This book is full of emotions and super 🥵🔥🔥🔥 steamy. This is one of my favorite MM series. Shannon Gunn does an absolutely phenomenal job narrating this book.
