Publisher's summary

Be afraid.

This unusual collection of true ghost stories and hauntings has been put together by Simon B. Murik, who is the son of a long line of mediums and sensitives originally from Eastern Europe. Many of the stories come from his own experiences, while others have been contributed by family members and those who have shared paranormal experiences and unexplained phenomenon with him.

Here is a sampling of some of stories you will find in this book:

The parents of a young girl who drowns in their backyard swimming pool have a painting made to keep her memory alive. The painting takes on a life of its own.

A police detective meets the ghost of the last man he killed.

Teenage girls playing with a Ouija Board late at night get far more answers than they were looking for.

A poltergeist invades a man's apartment and leads him on a ridiculous treasure hunt.

A workaholic executive staying late at night to finish a report has an "other worldly" experience that changes his life forever.

If you enjoy true ghost stories, hearing about paranormal experiences and real haunted houses then you will love this book. Get ready for a few chills and goosebumps!

Nice but a bit bland

I like true ghost stories most of the time and some of these were not bad. My issue is more with the delivery because while I get someone wanting to read their own book they should think about how it comes across. The read is very low-key and sonorous, which can be good for some places in the story but not all.

This collection of stories has been put together by Simon B. Murik who comes from a long line of mediums. Many of the stories are personal encounters while others are from family members and those who have had paranormal experiences such as friends and acquaintances.

Was this scary? No. Did it create an interesting atmosphere? Yes. Was it Spooky? Yes. Worth a listen and a read/listen to the others in the series.

Not my favorite

Maybe the stories weren't all that bad, but I can't say that for sure... I was so distracted by the narrator's reading style/performance that I couldn't enjoy the stories completely. Not one of my favorites. Sorry!

Spooky Collection of Ghostly Tales

I was looking for something spooky for a Halloween read. I came across this set of books that looked interesting. It's the first book in a set from a famed author named Simon Murik. The stories told within are true tales shared with him that he has collected and published in this series of books. There is a wide range of tales from differing points of view. Some are frightening, others less so and more genuinely creepy. A perfect read for Halloween. Not terrifying, but definitely entertaining. I listened to the audio book as well while reading this. Narrator Joe Bronzi did an excellent job, with just the right touch of emphasis on each story. A great shorter read/listen. I'll be reading the next book in the series.

Good stories

I liked the book in general the stories were too short but I did like when the narrator told the stories and there were background noise just like laughing and cracking and that kind of stuff it really made it interesting mad laughing and other different things in the background noises made the story interesting

it was alright

I wasn't too keen on the voice of the narrator, his voice was too nasally and high pitched
