Publisher's summary

For almost two years now, Kiera’s boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she’s ever wanted: loving, tender, and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together - Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university - everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.

Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source - a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he’s purely a friend she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes... and none of them will ever be the same.

I wanted to strangle the main character!

I liked this book, but it was about 5 hours to long. And the main character (Kiera) was so indecisive, I wanted to strangle her! Plus there was way to much blushing and winking.

Unexpectedly, brutally, addictingly realistic.

I believe that this book may fight its way to the top two on my list of favorite love stories. Yes, love stories. I apologize to some of the indignant reviewers who have claimed this to be a morally corrupt play on passions and deciet, but although the affair was wrong, this is a love story. Don't let the bitter people steer you away from this story- the only people that is story ISN'T for are those who've never loved. For everyone else, the messages in this story (including the consequences of cheating) make it worth your while. All of my above claims would be worthless if this book were poorly written, or even poorly narrated, but it was not. The writing is correctly focused for a first person story of an intelligent, shy woman, and the narration was equally well chosen. The book managed to stay interesting and superficial, while still casting deeper meanings and understandings without throwing around flashy metaphors or faked heroism.

I felt that this story uniquely affected me, and that it has the potential to affect everyone in a slightly different way. There is no trashy sexual descriptions, and this level of romantic writing has raised my standards of what a true love story should feel like.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Audible version.

It had been a while since I had read Thoughtless and I forgot all the angst between these two. Was nice to reconnect and the Audible version reminded me of so much I missed while reading it initially. Would highly recommend.

Thoughtless

Interesting plot but needed editing for length. Yes, I did want to smack the MC for stupidity and self involvement - what a heartless way to treat Denny, even though he dragged her across the country, let her enroll in school (again), then wanted her to move. She seriously needed a backbone. A tear-jerker but the writing mechanics were ok.

Unbelievably Thoughtless but Amazingly Great!

Where does Thoughtless rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

At the top. The writing is phenominal. The story is unbelievable. The subject was heartbreakingly good. I am not one for cheating and deception, but when this story is complete, it's not accepted (by me) but understood.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Denny - he's unbelievably adorable
Kellan - he's unbelievably sexy and broken
Jenny - she's unbelievably sweet and caring
Anna - she's unbelievably clueless and fun
Griffin - he's...well he's Griffin and this story would NOT be complete without him.
Kiera - was not my favorite because she made SO MANY MISTAKES. However, this book wouldn't be a book without her. Love her or hate her, she is a part of this series and she deserves to be there!

Which scene was your favorite?

Kellan in the rain and after...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me angry, it made me physically ill (I couldn't eat). It made me cry. After finishing it, I couldn't think about anything but the book. It is really an emotional roller coaster, and it's not much of a heartwarming read, but it is an experience. And believe me, you want to get through this book to enjoy the next two!

Any additional comments?

I do NOT condone cheating. I do NOT think the characters handled their situation well. I DO think that people make mistakes in their lives. Sometimes they are huge and sometimes they are small. I think the author used this reasoning when writing this book and also allowed the characters to learn from the monstrous mistakes that they all made.

A typical end to a long distance relationship

Would you listen to Thoughtless again? Why?

Yes, I would listen to this book again. I liked this book the least of the 3, as it takes a while to get to know the characters and the narration was hard to listen to initially. When considering your credit investment, it is important to know that the series is fantastic and addicting as a whole. The passion and relationship between Kiera and Kellan are as gripping as with the relationships in Twighlight and 50 Shades. I plan to go back and relisten to this book now that I know the characters and the struggles they endured along the way. I always seem to miss something.

What other book might you compare Thoughtless to and why?

I would compare the passion, heart breaking background, and normal girl with extraodinary guy to Twilight, 50 Shades, and maybe even Pretty Woman.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I must admit that this was hard book to start. I thought the narrator was very green and flat initially. As the story picked up, she improved. I would have scored her lower on this book; however, she did such a great job in the books following.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

From mid book on Thoughtless through the end of the trilogy, I sure did!

Any additional comments?

Excellent series once you get past the first half of the first book. When starting this series, make sure you have enough credits to finish the series, as you will not be able to put it down!!! Promise!
