Publisher's summary

From the author who's inspired millions worldwide with books like Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven comes his most imaginative novel yet, The Time Keeper--a compelling fable about the first man on earth to count the hours.

The man who became Father Time.

In Mitch Albom's newest work of fiction, the inventor of the world's first clock is punished for trying to measure God's greatest gift. He is banished to a cave for centuries and forced to listen to the voices of all who come after him seeking more days, more years. Eventually, with his soul nearly broken, Father Time is granted his freedom, along with a magical hourglass and a mission: a chance to redeem himself by teaching two earthly people the true meaning of time.

He returns to our world--now dominated by the hour-counting he so innocently began--and commences a journey with two unlikely partners: one a teenage girl who is about to give up on life, the other a wealthy old businessman who wants to live forever. To save himself, he must save them both. And stop the world to do so.

Told in Albom's signature spare, evocative prose, this remarkably original tale will inspire readers everywhere to reconsider their own notions of time, how they spend it and how precious it truly is.

Intriguing and thought provoking story

It never ceases to amaze me how an author can weave a story and make it all come together in the end. This book started out as three separate stories and seemed to be rather short and choppy. I wondered how in the world it would connect, but to my surprise it was a very interesting plot with a touch of science fiction (which I do not enjoy). However I had no trouble with it in this book and was eagerly awaiting the end to see how the characters would be changed. It really causes one to think about the very short "time zone" in our whisper of a lifetime and realize that we should not take one moment for granted.

Touching, Engaging, and Enlightening...

Mitch Albom does it again. This is a story about time... the subject itself should be sufficient to raise curiosity... what story does Mitch want to tell this time? He sure does not disappoint. Although I love Mitch's stories I am not a big reader. Narrator of this audio book does a fantastic job of keeping me engaged during daily commutes. Towards the end of the story, I would take my iPod out of the car and keep on listening because I just couldn't "put the book down"! This is a wonderful story that will change your view of life just enough to make you want to make some kind of change.

Mitch will tap dance on your heart, you’ll love it!

Mitch Albom will tap dance on your heart, and you’ll love it!

Mitch Albom does it again! I read his last book and liked it and I listened to this one and most of the way through I thought it was okay, Then it happens…. He reaches deep into your chest, rips out your heart, and savagely throws it on the floor and then gracefully tap dances on it. All the while you will be begging for more.

Young or old Mitch Albom will play your emotions like a master musician exquisitely plays there instruments. With another timeless lesson Mitch Albom hits a home run, with his simple life lessons for all young and old!

Not as good as I hoped it would be.

I listen to Mitch Albom on the radio almost every day. He talked about his book although I never once heard him say 'this is a great story; you should read it'. He played a snippet of it, and I loved the narration, and thought the story would be better than it ended up being. It just didn't keep me on the edge of my seat wanting more. The narrator was awesome, though! One of the best I've heard.

Albom always has a lesson to share

I love Mitch Albom and the way he writes and the messages he has to share. This book does have a good message though I felt this one was not as effective as his others have been. The narrator was excellent and his voice for each character was perfect. It is a short book and certainly well worth the time.

Over Dependent on Time

Any additional comments?

I'm am so guilty of being over-dependent on time. I even sleep with my watch on! This book made me more aware of how futile it is and how I need to just enjoy each minute given to me. What would the world be like without the concept of time? Very interesting, thought-provoking and yet enjoyable book.

Life changing

Quite possibly the best story ever read to me. Story must be heard and Dan Stevens truly brought the characters to life. This was also my first ebook having believed in reading an actual book was part of the experience. Now I am sold on Audible.
