Publisher's summary

Two women, centuries apart, are joined through a tattered journal as they contend with God, husbands, and even themselves...until they fall into the arms of the One who loves them unconditionally.

Sierra Madrid's life has just been turned upside down when she discovers the handcrafted quilt and journal of her ancestor Mary Kathryn McMurray, a young woman who was uprooted from her home only to endure harsh conditions on the Oregon Trail. Though the women are separated by time and circumstance, Sierra discovers that many of the issues they face are remarkably similar. By following Mary Kathryn's example, Sierra learns to surrender to God?s sovereignty and unconditional love.

performed well.

Good idea for a story line. I liked the weaving of the historical part with the present. As a Christian who has suffered I found a lot of the Christian words seemed trite, especially in the middle. it finished well.

Highly Enjoyed. Great Listen/Read

Beautifully written and most inspiring. I ached in both body and soul for these people, as well as felt their joy and elation. I will definitely read/listen to again! Wonderful Narrative.

Loved the modern story better than the old one

I really liked the story about sierra. But the other story got tiring. Good ending and it was a good book to push me to be a better Christian.

What an inspiring beautiful book

Ms Rivers has embodied in this book true daily struggles and how we forget that God is in control. This is NOT a corny book. It is full of love and hate and joy and sadness and anger and repentance. The characters lives are so true to life and touches my heart. You will not regret listening to this book, I promise. Wow.

Tear giver...lol!

My gauge if I read, listen or watch something n it brings a tear then it's worthy of spending the word of it. I'm new to her following, love her books n the people that preform as storytellers. keep up the good words!
