Interesting as well as inspiring
The 2nd book of this series is easier to read (listen) than the first. I anticipated each chapter to learn more of the various characters’ adventures. I ultimately enjoyed the story. The prayers were inspiring. However, some of the descriptions of people’s looks, thoughts, similes were unrealistic in my opinion i.e. eyes as deep as the oceans, etc. I will listen to the next book in the series.

creepy
I really love the books, but the reader was kind of odd. She did accents, which was nice, but she made people who were probably only about 45ish sound as though their knees were wobbly with age. The effect was a little creepy.

From the first book to the second, I have been hooked and looking forward to having time to listen to the story of these two families. Just finished The Sacred Shore and have purchased the next three books in the series to continue the journey. I would definatly recommend this to listeners.

Best book series of Janet Oake so far
Enthralling! I was listening while I did stuff around the house but once the story was in full swing in The Meeting Place and this book I couldn’t stop listening until it was over. I can’t wait for the next book!
