When a Jack the Ripper copycat killer murders a waitress in Whitechapel, a tabloid newspaper hires private detective Matthew Reid, descendant of the detective on the original case, as a publicity stunt to sell newspapers. Meanwhile, when Reid's daughter, Chelsea, a survivor of a vicious attacker who butchered her face, learns that a killer is stalking a group of Ripperologists at a writer's convention in Florida, Reid's investigation becomes much more than he bargained for. With the help of the ghosts of the original five victims of the Ripper, Chelsea discovers that a sadistic entity believes itself to be the ghost of Jack the Ripper, and when the entity starts hopping bodies, the streets of Fort Lauderdale run red with blood.
If you aren't bothered by gore, I recommend this quick read! I really enjoyed the various voices by the reader and it helped me establish the characters in my own mind. Very unique twist on a historical event!
