Publisher's summary

His courage covered his brother's fear. His sacrifices atoned for the peoples sin. His voice carried the words of God. Moses parted the red sea. But in his shadow stood a man who symbolizes forever our great High Priest: Aaron.

Pointing to the perfect High Priest

The story of a man. A man who is called by God, and set aside. He is molded into a more humble person as he is faced with challenges that he cannot fulfill to perfection. He fails, repents, regrets and obeys as good as he can. He is ordained as high priest, and set apart, sanctified. Yet, he is constantly reminded of his shortcomings, and at the end of his long life he pleads for God to send a perfect High Priest, a Saviour who can bring the perfect sacrifice. Again, Francine Rivers has written, from a wonderfully personal angle, of the spiritual struggle that a person is faced with in his life on this earth. Pointing to the Saviour who sees our struggle and forgives our trespasses, making us His children as we trust in Him.

This book opened up such a greater understanding.

This is a book I would recommend to anyone wanting greater understanding of the old testament. The Father's love and why we need Jesus sacrifice. we to are just like Moses Aaron and the Israelite slaves coming out of Egypt.

I love Francine Rivers but...

This story feels a little flat, and the character development a little too modern and predictable. I've always loved the way Rivers brings historical details and context into her stories, but I didn't see it much here. It felt more like a modern take on an ancient story. The worst part however is the narration. The narrator has this constant dramatic tone that is just too much. At times, it's a whispery drama where it does not need to be. His style is just over the top drama as if every scene is an edge-of-your-seat, pay attention, something-awesome-is-happening play. It's tiresome and it skews the story. I may return this book and get the print version to see if I like it better reading it myself.

Horrible narration

We stopped listening. The narration in its sing song reading was driving us crazy. The story was good but the reading drove us crazy

The Narrator Ruined This Book

Francine Rivers is perhaps my favorite author. I have listened to or read just about everything she has written. I was so excited when I saw that there was another series available to listen to. But I have struggled for a few days to get into this story and it is 100% because the narration is so terrible. Normally I would have just binge listened through something like this. I'll read these books on paper instead. Don't waste a credit on this.

Amazing!

The story of Moses from Aaron’s perspective. So wonderful. Every human will get something from this. I couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t miss a second. I learned so much! I thought I understood things about that story and found out I didn’t know half of it!
Thank you
Please don’t stop these writings because yours are the closest to the Bible too.
Please do Deborah, and Judah with him denying Joseph they moving away cuz of guilt then how He treated Tamar so wrong , then give us her story of it too, then how in the world did he get picked to be the chosen tribe for Jesus to come from? There’s so many characters in the Bible I want to learn more about. Like Joash and how his 3 son and brother did evil after he spent his entire life as a king cleaning up house. Was if a typical PK thing that lead to bitterness the revenge? I don’t get it.

Brought the story of Aaron to life

This book helped me to really experience the Old Testament in a new way. And to realize how hard Aaron's life and the Israelites lives were. the narrator did a wonderful job. I will look for more books that he is the narrator for.

The narrator—Adam Verner was excellent! A narrator can make or break an audiobook. This was a wonderful one!

The story stayed very close to biblical truth. Thoroughly enjoyed this audio book. Highly recommend it!!
