Publisher's summary

He's a game she never intended to play.

And she's the game changer he never knew he needed.

The Perfect Game tells the story of college juniors, Cassie Andrews & Jack Carter. When Cassie meets rising baseball hopeful Jack, she is determined to steer clear of him and his typical cocky attitude. But Jack has other things on his mind... like getting Cassie to give him the time of day.

They're both damaged, filled with mistrust and guarded before they find one another (and themselves) in this emotional journey about love and forgiveness. Strap yourselves for a ride that will not only break your heart, but put it back together.

Sometimes life gets ugly before it gets beautiful...

Why Oh Why Don't I Preview it Before I Buy?

What would have made The Perfect Game better?

This is one of my favorite eBooks, and I bought the book because the sequel gets released next week and I don't have time to re-read it before it's released. So the story is great, but the audio ruins it for me. I dislike the narrator immensely. If I had paid more that 2 bucks for this I'd be ranting right now, but I am so disappointed. I am literally 5 minutes in and want to scratched my eardrums out. I don't think I will be able to finish this one and that irks the hell out of me cuz I have 8 more hours of work!

I don't think they try to match the voice with the character in the book. This Dara Rosenberg would be better suited in a quirky comedy like the vampire Molly Harper cooks and not a contemporary romance.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Dara Rosenberg?

anyone with a smoother voice. her raspy one annoyed me. I like Jill Redfield from the Crossfire novels or I like Grace Grant and Justine O'Keefe. Um, I'd even pick the lady who handed me my Egg McMuffin through the drive through this morning.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story is the redeeming quality.

Horrible Voice

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Dara Rosenberg?

This is one of my favorite books, but the audio book is painful to listen to. I'm 10 minutes into it and I'm calling it over... I can't take anymore. They should have gotten the woman who did the "Thoughtless" series.

Horrible voice

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The book was fine, it was the voice of the narrator that was a problem.

What didn’t you like about Dara Rosenberg’s performance?

Voice was harsh and annoying. I could not listen to it.

Any additional comments?

This was a total disappointment. I will not buy another.

Good story but not great narrator

The story was pretty good but the narrator not so much. Jack always sounded angry and some of the other men voices sounded like young girls. It really distracted from the book.

OMG! I loved this story!

Where does The Perfect Game rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of my favorites. I bought it for my kindle originally and then audible had it available and I bought it there. So glad that I did cause I truly enjoy the emotion the narrator adds.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked how real the storyline is. You can relate to the characters.

What about Dara Rosenberg’s performance did you like?

I liked how her voice was able to interpret the emotions of the characters.

Any additional comments?

I have already pre-ordered the sequel for my kindle...I hope audible will get it!

Horrible Performance of such a great story

What did you like best about The Perfect Game? What did you like least?

Best - The characters
Least - The horrible narration

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Dara Rosenberg?

Any. One. Else. She had horrible timing and couldn't seem to grasp the emotion behind some of the sentences. Plus, repeatedly mispronounced words. It was aggravating to listen to such a wonderful story being butchered.

Pretty good!!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Perfect Game to be better than the print version?

Print

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narrator was a little high pitched with her voice at times. Took me longer than normal to get used to her voice.

Any additional comments?

I still enjoyed!

The narrator completely ruined it for me

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

a better narrator and more realistic story line

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator's voice was whiny, high pitched, and reverted back and forth between the voice of a new yorker valley girl and a gruff brut. I couldn't even finish the audiobook because the narrator was so bad.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

no.

Narrator just about ruined it

The story was ok, kept me interested the whole time, but the narrator just about ruined it.

Story good, narration sucked

I absolutely hated the narration I couldn't tell between Jack and Cassie's voice it was just bad they sounded like kids, childish, loud. I just didn't like it at all. But I love the storyline
