Critic Reviews

"Carl Hiaasen and Elmore Leonard fans who have yet to discover Hautman's wryly comic, warmly human characters and madcap plots are in for a treat....This is about as offbeat as a comic crime novel can get, and entertaining enough to win Hautman a whole passel of new admirers." (Publisher's Weekly)

Old timers kick butt at the Minnesota State Fair

What a fun story! Loved the narrator and all the voices he does for the characters! I happened to really like Axel, the main character for this book so it was fun rooting for him and his people at the taco shop. Had some hilarious moments too. Not outstanding, but very enjoyable, especially for me as a transplant to Minnesota.
