Boring and trite

Keeps repeating itself. Can't complete it. Just a slog. Just read a lululemon bag and save yourself twenty dollars and 6 hours

Inspirational

I have started applying methods that I learned into new habits. These new habits have profoundly changed my life in a meaningful way. Deep breathing, eating once a day no processed foods, cold pool 50 degree water 15 min a day and meditation

Humphrey with this book.

This amazing Life lesson, this book teaches. And with Humphrey Bowers reading this book he make you feel like you are in the conversation with the characters of the Fable.
Not my first audiobook off Humphrey. But this is first time listening of Robin Shama book and I look forward listening more of he's books.

Diamonds in the Rough

This book reads like a spoken story, passed along from grandfather to grandson. It is not particularly literary in any way, and borders on very cheesy in much of its writing. However, there are golden little GEMS of wisdom throughout. As someone who has been studying and reading self help books for the last fifteen years, I would say that there are some fresh and inspiring techniques in this book, i.e. the Book of Dreams, The Heart of the Rose and more.

It has inspired me and I do intend to sift through it again to make some notes with which I can apply to life. Overall it's definitely worth a listen. Oh, and the real "wisdom" of the story (where we start to learn the Wisdom of the Sages of Savanna), starts about two hours in. The first two hours is backstory.

Enjoy!

Storytelling with real meaning

This is one of my favourite personal development books.

The story is simple believable and profound.

The author's website is a valuable resource to put into practice the lessons learned.

A real soul searching deep listen. Highly recommended x

Life Changing

Would you consider the audio edition of The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari to be better than the print version?

NA

What did you like best about this story?

I did not expect the lessons I got from reading this book about the little joys of life and making time for those we love. The wise words from the Yogi of Savannah are indeed transformative. The power of Kaizen and thinking progressively can lead to changes in our behaviour and choices. Are we living our lives for ourselves or for others.

What about Humphrey Bower’s performance did you like?

His voice changes with every lesson and conversation which makes it life-like.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. The discussions of Julian with his student by his tea table and rug late into the night. When he found the monks of Savannah, I thought it sounded rather fictitious.

Any additional comments?

"You sow a thought, you reap an action, sow a habit you reap a character, sow a character you reap your destiny."

In my top 3 audiobooks of 2018.

I am listening to this for self development while walking along my spiritual path. And, I am very thankful a friend recommend it to me. The ‘quotable quotes’ are excellent, as are the reviews of content every so often. I particularly liked the narrator’s delivery in this book. Will listen to it again.

Super ultra spiritual

Robin Sharma's podcasts have inspired me so I am disappointed to say that I did not enjoy this book. It lacks evidence to support its claims and operates on the premise that because a technique is ancient or comes from a valley in the Himalayas that it is beyond refute. Having said this I do think there is value to be extracted with the right mindset.

alright but full of cliches

was alright but I found the story was packed with too many cliches. my main gripe
1) doing what you're passionate about is BS. the market doesn't give a shit what you're passionate about - focus on others and solving problems - not on your own selfish passions.
2)you need a certain level of financial stability to be at peace. find me a happy person living in poverty that lives in a westernised country... no amount of mental gymnastics or meditation will make those with bad cash flow happy.

there were some decent points but I found the story and character development lacking.

good audio book

good audio book but sometimes it's hard to distinguish which character is speaking as the voice sounds the same for both characters
