Publisher's Summary

His Excellency Global community Potentate Nicolae Carpathia is back, this time as Satan. Resurrected and indwelt by the devil himself, it’s no more Mr. Nice Guy as the beast tightens his grip as ruler of the world. Ensconced in a new safe house, the Trib Force suffers tragic loss at the dawn of the second half of the seven-year tribulation, the Great Tribulation. Meanwhile, Carpathia plans his overt attack on the so-called Judah-ites, while the Trib Force gears up for its most ambitious countermeasures ever. And the battle is launched between the forces of good and evil.

Destroyed by narrator

What would have made The Mark better?

To have been read by Richard Ferrone

Would you be willing to try another book from Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins ? Why or why not?

Yes, by a different narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

After following the series as read by Richard Ferrone I was disappointed to fine that he had not narrated "The Mark". So I tried the most recent recording read by Jack Sondericker. What a huge fail. The accents are terrible, a New Zealander sounds Cockney, Zion the Jewish rabbi sounds like a Nazi!! His name is pronounced "see on" instead of Zion. And Carpathia and Fortunado are so over the top as to sound cartoonish. I didn't make it past chapter 3.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment

The story is great, performance lacking.

I only know what halogens in this book because I've read it. The performance was abysmal. I think there's an accidental pirate in there somewhere. Very disappointed.

Terrible playback quality.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The book, yes. This specific recording, no.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the series in a whole!

Would you be willing to try another one of Jack Sondericker’s performances?

Yes

Do you think The Mark needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I believe it already does.

Any additional comments?

This recording makes it sound like I have a blown speaker, no matter what device it is played on. Really takes away from the story.

I cannot describe how horrible the narrator is...

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Any other narrator. ANY. A random guy off the street. A parakeet. A chalkboard. Words cannot describe how bad it was. It was so bad. Just bad. Bad!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Mark?

I especially like the pauses in between when the narrator is talking.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jack Sondericker?

Anybody. Anybody at all. I didn't realize tears of woe could come from my ears...

What character would you cut from The Mark?

Jack Sondericker

Any additional comments?

I couldn't decide whether the incorrect pronunciations of names, the incorrect accents, or the racist accents were the worst. If dude had just used his own voice and correctly pronounced the names, I would have been fine.

Wow.

What made the experience of listening to The Mark the most enjoyable?

I love the reflection in the authors voice; it helps to tell the story so that you become more apart of the book.

I tried to read it on my own, but found myself drawn back to the audio.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Mark?

How realistic things can be: that there is a never ending battle between good and evil; a choice will need to be made.

Which scene was your favorite?

Just the solid faith of the characters to fight for God.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Almost - but it took me two days.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to the next one.

Great story, ok narrator

Our family loves listening to the Left Behind series, and this book doesn't disappoint. However, the narrator's accents are sometimes "over the top"and difficult to understand.

This book is a great depiction of last day events.

Although we can't know for certain how the Mark will be applied, I love the explanation of the process. I read the entire Left Behind series years ago, but after hearing the audiobook of The Mark, I plan to purchase the others again.
