Publisher's summary

When a young boy finds a mysterious object in the creek near his home, his parents launch an investigation that will eventually link the ancient object to such remarkable figures as George Washington Carver, Oskar Shindler, Joan of Arc, and Alfred Vanderbilt. Separate pieces of the artifact, with different but similar inscriptions, shape the lives of those who possess the object.

With each new discovery come new questions: What is the connection between these objects? Is there another piece? And, if so, how might this final piece complete the object and its message? Could it, indeed, change the very world with its power and wisdom? A dramatic epilogue reveals not only the origin and fulfillment of this amazing artifact, but also the guiding principles behind this story that can be applied directly to readers' lives.

A good story with a few lulls sprinkled throughout

The times this story picked up for me was when the historical characters who were known to possess the four "rocks" (or "choices") were talked about. The author was ingenius in the way he crafted the story around these figures. In fact, his work intrigued me so much that I went to learn more about some of these people of history on the Web.

The parts that didn't do well for me were the times spent on too much trivial filler between the interesting moments. The narrator's voice took some getting used to--kind of a country twang here and there. And his skill at different voices seemed a bit stretched, but for the most part it worked.

Are you searching for purpose?

Are you searching for purpose in your life? Andrews gives us a simple, yet important message in "The Lost Choice." So often we wonder why God put us here on this planet, but we do not need to search anymore. Take the time to enjoy how the simplest acts we take can impact the world.

Outstanding book->

Great book... It is one of those books that you do not want to stop when you get to your destination (when listening in a car). It definately demonstrates how each of us are a person of influence... good or bad!

Enlightenment

While Andy Andrews can draw similar conclusions with all his stories, they each emphasize the key points in different manners that make them more apparent and clear than before. His vocal performance is also very enjoyable to listen to.

Great story deserving of a movie.

What a great story, makes you rethink what you're doing with your life.

Again, Andy Andrews put meaning into a story like no one else can. One of my favorite all time books from Andy. I can listen to this over and over again.

Another solid performance by Andy Andrews!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Lost Choice to be better than the print version?

No idea, I have not read the print version

Any additional comments?

This is a really good book, and I very much enjoyed it. However, it is probably not the strongest of the Andy Andrews books. But his other books are all so great, that sets the bar very high. Compared to any other motivational/insightful author, Andy is the best, and this book is way better than what you would get from another author!

lack of information

this story has a good plot, but it leave you wondering too long before the big secret is revealed. I lost interest in the middle of the story. There are some parts had too much History details. For this reason I will not listen to it again.

Another intriguing journey through history

If you are an Andy Andrews fan, maybe of The Traveler's Gift or The Noticer then this journey through history and time might be your next favorite book. Read by the author which makes it more enjoyable to me because they can add emphasis where they intended it to be. Don't make missing this one your Lost Choice.
