Publisher's Summary

It’s been years since Abby O’Brien Winters set foot in Chesapeake Shores. The Maryland town her father built has too many sad memories and Abby too few spare moments, thanks to her demanding Wall Street career, the crumbling of her marriage, and her energetic twin daughters. Then one panicked phone call from her youngest sister brings her racing back home to protect Jess’s dream of renovating the charming Inn at Eagle Point.

But saving the inn from foreclosure means dealing not only with her own fractured family but also with Trace Riley, the man Abby left 10 years ago. Trace can be a roadblock to her plans…or proof that second chances happen in the most unexpected ways.

Enjoy the book but...

I really like the book, but the narrator puts me to sleep. Her voice is so monotone and boring. Often while listening have to fight to stay awake. I hate that an enjoyable book such as this one has such an uninteresting narrator. I like how the author includes a character with ADD and how it affects their life.

Annoying narration

This is my first Sherryl Woods novel and I love it. I have listened to Christina Traister in other novels and enjoyed her performance, but this one is annoying because it sounds like she has a frog in her throat and needs to clear it. It isn't obvious in some of her character voices, but most of them are 'gravely.' It's annoying, but the story is a delight.

Good Book, except for Porno scene

Just can't understand why a writer finds it necessary to include explicit details of a love scene. It did not add anything to the story. I was listening with my 14 yr old daughter for a while, but thankfully she quit listening before this point! I wish audiobooks had ratings!

Narrator is terrible

Would you try another book from Sherryl Woods and/or Christina Traister?

I didn't find the writing compelling enough to suffer through the narration. I might listen to another book, if there was a different narrator reading.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I can't listen to another book narrated by Ms. Traister. Her Irish accent is abysmal and her characterizations of others in the book all meld together. Voice is monotone and sing-song and really offers no dramatic quality. I suffered through the narration to finish the story, which was fairly predictable, but better than the narration.

Disappointed

This was a poorly written story that reminded me of the old romance novels from the 70's. I wouldn't recommend it.

Wets your appetite for this family and town

Would you listen to The Inn at Eagle Point again? Why?

Absolutely! This is the beginning of a great series. It isn't my favorite in the series but definitely worth another listen as I go through the series again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jess because you can't help but feel for her as she tries to live up to her family.

Fun, light series read.

I enjoyed this series of books. They were a nice distraction while commuting to/from work. Predictible but enjoyable. Sometimes it's nice having a story end the way you want.

Not bad

I liked this. It was a sweet love story. The ex-husband was really lame. The narrator was okay, sometimes a little to robotic I guess, but all in all I liked it.

Blah

I think the story would have been so much better had I not listened to it. I felt that it was lacking fluency and real personality. I would have enjoyed hearing the voices in my head versus the narrator. The book was good the narrator left much to be desired. It irritated me. Maybe audible isn't for me because I have a hard time listening and wishing for more. I have listened to many books though, and have loved them. So it could be the story was totally predictable.

Would you listen to The Inn at Eagle Point again? Why?

I really enjoyed this story and will read more in this series , i will listen to this story again what a beautiful family ,and the love and courage of the sisters and brothers ,and what a wonderful father they have ,i have to read the rest of this series to see where this family and there friends settle and does the mother and father have a happy ending and with whom,

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Inn at Eagle Point?

for me i loved it when the inn finally opened and the decorations were so tastefull , and for the mother to get the best room in the inn ,i loved that after all the twists and turns ,

What does Christina Traister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

she does a really great job in this book the warmth and love you can just feel thru her readings ,keep up the great stories

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the forgivness ot the father in this story and for the way he cared about the children, he sounds like a really soft romantic to me and deserves a happy ending,
