Publisher's summary

Evil is raging on the 20th floor of an apartment building on the West Side. In an open window, a hideous blind nun perpetually gazing...watching. A body, burned beyond recognition. Then two more murders...strangely connected. And the discoverer, a beautiful young woman, raped. Her innocent child exposed to horror. Her husband, furious, relentlessly set on revenge. A cool, calculating, laughing priest intent on saving more lives from the destruction. And so it begins...powerful, satanic, terrifying...a time you will never forget.

Pretty good Horror Novel

Didn't like the very, very end because the writer never wrote a third book in the series. Not as good as the first book, The Sentinel, but has enough graphic moments to be a decent horror novel.

Better than the original!

Kept me guessing till the end! I think I’m going to have to re-read now that I know what happens

What just happened?

Tried to keep up as the basic just of the story was interesting but by the end I still had no idea what just happened. Decent narration though.

Entertaining But Dated

Good sequel to the first but concept about what is considered sinful and damning by God a bit offensive, then again I’ve lived in the SF Bay Area all my life. But overall, after getting beyond that, not bad.

Awsome

I have always included The Sentinal in my list of all time favorite horror movies of the past. Recently I have listen to The Sentinel on Audible when finishing I realized there was a sequel, purchasing it immediately I didn't know if I would like it because I prefer generally to listen to a woman's voice. However after listening to the guardian twice I was so impressed with this book as a sequel, in the rare case, I feel the sequel was a much better story than the original. I would highly recommend and I would really like to see this made into a movie. the narrator really made this for me he was great. thank you.

It was better than book one

Happily surprised by the novel. Mystery who done it with supernatural undertones too bad there is no book 3 Need to turn this one into a movie too

YES

Blood, guts, gore, demons, good versus evil, and *SPOILERS* an UNhappy ending. All the key elements that make a kicka$$ horror story! I really liked the Guardian; even though this is a sequel, it can stand alone as a great story. Narration and story were both fantastic. It's been said before, but this needs to be a movie!

FANTASTIC

This is one of my all-time favorite books. I’ve also read the prequel, the Sentinel, which is also great. I understood there was to be a third book. I’ve been waiting years. Sadly, not sure it will be forthcoming, since this was written so long ago.

Good Listen

This was a good listen. Considering the time it came out, it may seem a little dated to some. It was worth the credit.

very good

I think this was superior to The Guardian story (and similar film) because it was more elaborate and suspenseful. There are some genuine twists and the book is film-like. The narrator did an excellent job of differentiating the characters and chose excellent variations for each. My only complaint (and it’s a big one) is that the names and various story lines (all of which eventually come together) are confusing. If you don’t listen to the story in a rush (and I didn’t) you will be asking who this or that character was, because they appear and disappear and the author doesn’t use resumptive repetition to provide continuity.
