Publisher's Summary

At 17 years old, Mattie Hathaway has survived her mother attempting to kill her, multiple foster homes, and a serial killer. Oh, and she sees ghosts on a regular basis too. You’d think Fate would give her a break right? Umm…nope, not Mattie.

Dan Richards is the only person in the entire world Mattie trusts, but then the boy goes and breaks her heart. Mattie does what she does best, she runs and lands herself slap in the middle of a haunted house full of ghosts turned vengeful that want Mattie to join their ranks.

Only bright spot on all this? Eli Malone - the gorgeous boy with the beautiful aqua eyes that makes her feel things she’s never even imagined before. She’s not sure what to do with him, especially when Dan shows up glowering at him.

She’ll figure Eli out if she can survive the house. The ghosts are bound and determined to kill her so she’ll be one of them. Now if she can just figure out how to survive them and the demon stalking her, she might be able to decide what to do about her feelings for Dan and Eli.

That is if she can survive the night in the house.

The story great - the narrator, horrid.

Someone needs to tell the narrator that narration isn't a race. Slow down and your narration won't suck.

Too scary to listen to in the dark !

Would you listen to The Ghost Files, Book 2 again? Why?

Yes ....because there are probobly some details I missed because I was SO incredibly spooked the first time around. Lol

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Ghost Files, Book 2?

I am still listening but this is the 2nd book in the series .
At first you are just listening and it all seems a bit mundane, interesting ...but then something will happen in the story that is so scary you are frightened to be alone . I don't want to spoil the story for anyone but there are a few pages that jump out at you.
I am not a kid , I have kids of my own , and I love tv shows like Ghost adventures and the Dead Files , and I enjoy a good thriller....but THIS is an unexpected and frightening series ! I love it but I would NOT recommend to younger teens.

What three words best describe Elise Randall’s performance?

A bit fast

If you could take any character from The Ghost Files, Book 2 out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Mattie - the main character.
Because she has gone through so much and she stays so strong but still she is incredibly vulnerable. You can't help but admire her.

Any additional comments?

Please continue the series. I am addicted!
But a caveat , it is highly violent and very spooky and as I said before it is more of an older teen or even an adult series even though the characters are teens and young adults for the most part.
If it was a movie it would be rated R 17 just to give you an idea.

The book is great but the audio only goes up to chapter 4

Which sucks cause that's why I got the audio so I can listen to the narrator read the whole book to me while I work , I am very disappointed and I want my credit back

Epic

These cliffhangers will be the death of me! LOL! But these books are worth the anticipation!

I'm sad the rest of the series isn't available on audible but I will be surely buying the ebooks and reading them ASAP!

The narrator this time around was SO MUCH BETTER! Her voices and emotions were on point.

The plot on this book definitely picked up even more and the drama and mystery had me on the edge of my seat! I found myself gasping with shock at some of the twists which is a HUGE plus for me in books as I usually guess the "surprises" along the way!

I cannot wait to see how this series unfolds! Shame on me for not starting this series sooner! FIVE STARS.

Another great listen!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Ghost Files, Book 2 to be better than the print version?

Possibly. While Apryl spins a great tale, I don't think the editing was quite what it should've been. And the audio helped overlook them since it wasn't my own voice I heard in my head, cause yunno, I don't read out loud to myself. The audio brought the story to life.

What did you like best about this story?

I still felt connected to Mattie and her struggle over who to like. Of course, I DID listen to this immediately following the first book, so there wasn't any time to forget what was going on.

What about Elise Randall’s performance did you like?

She read well and smooth, connecting me to the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! In fact, I bought it immediately after I finished the first book in the series. And guess what I did next? I bought the third!

Any additional comments?

Great book to listen to!

I first discovered this on WATT Pad

I have been an Apryl Baker fan for a while now I first discovered her writing on the app called Wattpad. This story is about Mattie, a foster child whose had a pretty messed up childhood. She was almost murdered by her foster mother in the group home she was living at. Upon coming back from the brink of death, she brought back a gift. Her gift is being able to see, feel , and hear ghosts and as of now demons. This is a great story is you are looking for a great ghost, horror story. *You don't have to read the first Ghost Files book, but it is highly recommended* to read and understand this one. Apryl Baker is a young talented writer!

Really loving this author & Mattie's story

What did you like most about The Ghost Files, Book 2?

I love the continuation of Mattie's story, I feel there's still more to come especially now the creepy Silas has been revealed. I want to find out more about Eli and his family too. Dan seems a bit boring in comparison.

Which character – as performed by Elise Randall – was your favourite?

Mattie as she's still a gripping honest likeable character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I kept finding times to plug in so I could see what happened next

Any additional comments?

When's the next one in the series? I was worried the change of narrator from the first book would be jarring or I wouldn't love it as much. But thankfully although slightly different it still had the same vibe.
