Epic

Even though I knew how it had to end I was Still Heart Broken at the end. I fell in love with these Characters and Hated the thought that the Dream would die.

bittersweet

I've been reading this series for nearly 20 years. sad to have finally finished it.

One-of-a-kind

If you're someone who commutes a lot or has a job that allows you to spend a lot of time wearing earbuds, then this story is for you. I was pleased to find a series of this magnitude that didn't include magic of some nature. Great storytelling that didn't rely on a lot of battle scenes keep me interested. Great series.

Surprise

Surprisingly the narrator actually improved. It only took five epic length novels and hundreds of hours of audio time but it happened. The distinction between major characters was still minimal and his voices are still grating, pretentious and/or idiotic but an improvement is an improvement.

The story was excellent. A truly impressive take on the Arthurian legends. In my opinion, a far more likely scenario than the dominant story but whatever, it was still very entertaining, thoughtful and fun. Anyone who is interested in Arthur would do well to include these books in their collection.

Excellent story telling. The author has taken us further into the lore of Merlin, his Knights and Guinevere.

After having read the books years ago, I enjoyed listening to the audio just as much.

Good King Arthur and Rome series

When I first read these books a decade ago, I thought they were at the top of their game. They're still great for many reasons, but one thing I missed the first time around is the shear amount of exposition. Much of it is necessary, but most not necessarily so. It would be easy to argue that the primary narrative and story of the books are told in exposition. So if this author's previous works weren't enjoyed by you or you thought other works had too much exposition (like, say Pillars of the Earth) you might be wary. But, what the author does to make up for the amount of exposition is posit an entertainingly plausible story of how King Arthur stepped out of the world left by the fall of Rome. And I still enjoyed that story the second time around.

Excellent spin of a classic tale!

The overall story was captivating. And sometimes I even wonder if this is based in fiction or not. Anyone who enjoyed the story of Arthur and Camelot will thoroughly enjoy this series.

Wow

The author saved the best for last and ended it in the expected way, but with a little twist that made me wish for one more.

All good things must end....

I am of no words at the moment. We all know that all good things and good stories must come to a end.......but......I was not ready. A fitting end I guess to a wonderful series
