    "Dark and gripping"

Dark of Night is a tale of good vs evil. A story so raw that the main character, Emma, has to battle this evil being with everything she has. She loses people along the way. She also gains new allies and learns a lot about her family and herself.
I found myself riveted by the stories of the evil Amala. How she came to be and her struggle in many of her lifetimes almost makes you feel sorry for her. But her evil intentions and firm grasp on her hatred for those that wronged her is just too enticing for her to give up. So she lives her many lives the same as always; with fear and hate in her heart.
    Until Emma comes along.
This story is very engaging for the reader (or in my case, listener). The author’s ability to tell Amala’s and Emma’s stories is delightful and the narrator does a fantastic job of bringing the characters off the page. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys urban fantasy, tales of ancient beings or mythology.
I give Dark of Night 4 stars. It was a very enjoyable book!

    "Creepy good vs evil story"

This is an intricate, creepy and yet thought provoking story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Even though this audiobook continues the story from the Cold Room, it could just as easily be read as a stand alone. The story quickly draws you into the lives of Emma, the main protagonist, and Karen, her mother and protagonist from the Cold Room. Their mother/daughter relationship is beautiful but also heartbreaking, and you can not help but become invested in Emma's survival as she takes on Amala, the ancient entity her mother encountered years earlier. The storyline captures your imagination and the narration draws you into the story, sending shivers down your spine. Keefer does a good job with narration and manages to infuse emotion and tension in all the right places, she especially does Emma's confrontational attitude well. It is a captivating story and you can not guess where it will lead as the author pulls you through the various twists of this intriguing good vs evil tale. The characters in this book are complex and have a duality that is fascinating, making this battle between good and evil not as black and white as you would think. It is a well written story in which the author and narrator makes you experience the emotions, hopes, fears, strengths and weakness of the characters very well. From the dichotomy of Amala, to the Steve's beautiful soul and the nastiness of Derek Trump (a psychotic hidden behind a veneer of normalcy), the characters are interesting and have depth. The Dark Of Night captivated me with its thrilling, twisting storyline and fascinating, well developed characters, keeping me turning the pages right up to its surprising end. I received the audiobook at no cost and under no obligation.

    "Ying and Yang"

Light vs dark, angels vs demons, ying vs yang. This book sucks you in from the beginning as the main character, Emma, is found to be jumping out her bedroom window at the tender age of 5. As she grows up she learns about her family history and the need for balance in the universe.
