Publisher's summary

The tree is decorated, the cookies are baked, and the packages are wrapped, but the biggest celebration this Christmas is Gaby Summerhill's wedding. Since her husband died three years ago, Gaby's four children have drifted apart, each consumed by the turbulence of their own lives. They haven't celebrated Christmas together since their father's death, but when Gaby announces that she's getting married - and that the groom will remain a secret until the wedding day - she may finally be able to bring them home for the holidays. But the wedding isn't Gaby's only surprise - she has one more gift for her children, and it could change all their lives forever.

With deeply affecting characters and the emotional twists of a James Patterson thriller, The Christmas Wedding is a fresh look at family and the magic of the season.

A solid, good book

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend this story because it provides an unique view inside a family and their unique celebration of Christmas and looking forward.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending was very satisfying.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I thought that the narrator was excellent. She captured the tone of the book and its characters.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

If this book were a movie, I wouldn't go to see it because I generally prefer more folksy stories. However, this was an excellent story.

Any additional comments?

This book had interesting characters, a plot that I couldn't predict, and a big event that made Christmas special for the family. It was a different kind of Christmas story and I'm really glad that I read it.

Hallmark Channel Movie

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

It was a little corny, but overall a sweet story. I don't think it was worth a credit and I thought it was going to better than it was. There was no mystery and it was fairly predictable.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes, if it were on tv.

Patterson book mill pap

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This is an improbable plot ground out by Patterson's book factory. It is as engaging as a movie of the week, enhanced only by the performers--who are very good. The characters are undeveloped and their stories are predictable. This is the last book by Patterson et al that I will buy. It was a waste of time. Even the picture on the cover is misleading--the bride is close to 60.

What could James Patterson and Richard DiLallo have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Write a story with some substance and plausibility.

Which character ??? as performed by the narrators ??? was your favorite?

The mother

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

absolutely not

not much realism in this one.

Over all the story was ok, but had trouble getting past the fact that the main character was asked to marry three men and didn't answer them untill the day of the wedding. How did they get a license? I know, I know it is just a story but I don't think anyone would wait to find out if they were marring that day they are accepted. Another thing that bothered me was the main character caught her teenage grandson smoking marijuana with his young cousin and all he got was a slap on the wrist if that much. Not sure this book was the best Patterson book.
