Publisher's summary

Fourteen people, 14 phone calls, one morning, infinite fates.

When Pippa comes across a young man standing on the edge of a deserted bridge, little does she know her next phone call will be part of a chain of events that will reverberate through the lives of 13 people she will never meet.

Through the stories of a series of compelling characters, including a jilted lover, a lonely refugee, and an ambitious chef, this compelling novella, The Call, explores the power of modern life's most ubiquitous object, the phone, to bring disappointment, stasis, or joy into our lives.

Highly recommended

Great book, well written and narrated. Loved the subtle links from one character to the next. I would recommend it and will be seeking out other books by this author. Provides a great snapshot of 14 different people across all sections of society who could be living in your street in modern Britain today.
