Publisher's Summary

Listen to this quaint tale of baseball and the ghosts of childhood.

Have you seen the movie The Sandlot?

Well, that was pretty much my childhood. As a 10-year-old, it seemed the mysteries of life came alive through baseball. This is a story straight out of those glory days of playing baseball on the diamonds of Southern California, of the smell of cut grass in the outfield, of hitting impossible homers on and off the field. And of ghosts. This story is very much about the ghosts of childhood. You won't believe where this story goes.

Of all the stories I have ever written, this is perhaps my favorite.

I wrote it some years ago, mostly for my son who had passed not long before. He loved baseball, and the best year of my life was coaching his youth team. This isn't about that year. This particular story is about a little boy though, and the mysteries that surround him on opening day of the Little League season.

Such a beautiful story!!!!

It took me awhile to put myself back together after this listen. This 40-minute story was a complete lifetime and it just blew me away.

I can't say too much because I don't want to give the story away. Just know that Edison McDaniels penned and performed one heck of a beautiful story. The ebb and flow was so rich and sweet and just incredibly special.

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

Well done Edison!

Bottom of the 5th is a beautifully told tale by the father of a young boy who loved to play baseball. It is a very short story, but it conveyed all the emotion possible. I wonder if it was a true story. In closing I had a tear in my eye and a small lump in my throat. Well done Edison. Touching and beautiful

Good things come in small packages and that is certainly true here.In a short period of time you will remember a special
period in your life you will be touched and you will be entertained.

Just like a vivid dream you will think a long time has passed but when it is over you will be amazed how 40 minutes
can be used so well.
