Poor Morwenna! Poor Drake!

With the perfectly cast actors in the PBS series, I thought of them whilst reading of Drake and Morwenna’s trials and tribulations. And poor Aunt Agatha! At least Dwight provided some good news to offset the bad news villainy of George Warleggan and Osborne Wentworth.

Layers of historical detail and drama.

Wonderful narration!

This addition to the Poldark books brought a maturity to the older characters and added to the depth of history that affected life in Cornwall. I thought the debate within Ross regarding his reflections on responsibility and revolution were thoughtful and provoking. The entire story became a foil of opposite ideas and colliding hypocrisy mixed up in the complexities of human nature and life within the larger events of its existence.

Hard to believe it was written years after the prior book

So hard to believe the author wrote this book about 20 years after the prior book. It is seamless in storyline. Why did he wait to write it? The narrator does a great job with the different voices and dialects. I feel like he's acting instead of just reading. Highly recommend this series from the beginning. And you have to keep listening to them all.

Love this series!

Would you listen to The Black Moon again? Why?

I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series. I love seeing where these characters are headed. I look forward to the discourse between Ross and George, and how the Poldark's will prevail!

One more great book

I just love this book. Ross and Demelza's love is stronger. Elizabeth and George has more a marriage of convenience, where they have found a way of life that satisfies each other, which is based on secrets. worth your time, money or Credit.

Enjoying the entire series...

This book was a bit of a surprise for me, because the PBS series varies a bit from the content here. The French men are intriguing, but the accents are sometimes difficult to understand, just as they were for Demelza.
