Publisher's Summary

The Bad Games Box Set includes:

Bad Games - the terrifying best seller that started it all. The Lambert Family is heading to Crescent Lake, a rural cabin community in Western Pennsylvania, for an idyllic weekend getaway. Some fishing, some barbecue, some games... The Fannelli brothers are heading to Crescent Lake, too. Some stalking, some kidnapping, some murder, definitely some games...though not necessarily the type of games the Lamberts had in mind. But it doesn't matter. The Lamberts are going to play whether they like it or not.

Vengeful Games - the Lambert family played the Fannelli brothers' twisted game and survived. Showed the brothers they'd messed with the wrong family. However, the game is far from over. There are some new players in town. Players who have close ties to the Fannelli brothers. Players who are taking things very personally...and promising results that are very deadly.

Bad Games: Hellbent - a year has passed. Marine and security specialist Domino Taylor shadows the Lambert family, the guilt he feels for the tragic events that unfolded in Western Pennsylvania haunting him without mercy. When someone from Domino's past contacts him, begging for his help, Domino reluctantly agrees, not knowing the sinister truth lying in wait: There is one final game yet to play.

What a ride!

In Bad Games, book 1, the Lambert Family are heading for a nice, quiet, relaxing weekend in a cabin at Crescent Lake. Unbeknownst to them, along the way, they have attracted the attention of the Fannelli brothers. The brothers have included the family in one of their sick and twisted games. The family are being harassed and terrorized until the brothers decide the game has run it's course. The outcome of the games is usually death!

In Vengeful Games, book 2, the Lambert family barely survived, but they showed the brothers that they messed with the wrong family. But family sticks together, and when strange and deadly things start happening to the Lamberts again they ask their close friend Domino Taylor for help and they quickly realise that the Fannelli brothers had a family, and that family are bent on revenge.

In Bad Games: Hellbent, book 3, it's been a year and Domino is still protecting the Lamberts. Racked with guilt over a certain death, he is intent on keeping the family safe, but when someone from Dominos past asks for his help, he knows he has to say goodbye to the family. But someone else from his past is there to play one last game.

This series was amazing. This was pretty much a non stop psychological thrill the whole way through. What the family went through was horrible but I loved how the couple came together and did whatever they needed to do to help each other. Book 1 and 2 centers on the family and it was heartbreaking seeing what they went through, in both of the books. I was on the edge of my seat throughout!!

The brothers were absolute psychos! They think they are special because experts say that it's genetics that play a big role in how someone turns out, but the brothers were raised in a loving home. They think they are the exception to the rule and will be famous and studied when they are eventually caught. Not that they want to be caught, they enjoy the torture too much and love what they do! But from an early age, the brothers loved inflicting harm on others and notched their first kill at an early age. They were the worst of the worst. But in book 2 we are introduced to two more of the family and they were even worse!! It is definitely a family affair.

In all, a terrifying and thrilling read. Al three books kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. What both the family and Domino went through was terrifying and disturbing, but seeing their strength was amazing. The author has created some sick and twisted characters, but ones that will stay with me. I highly recommend this series!!

This isn't the first book narrated by Gary Tiedemann that I've listened to and it won't be my last. He really brought the story to life in this one!! His inflections and tones were perfect for the book and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

I was voluntarily provided this audiobook for free from the author, narrator, or publisher. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Psychotic horror done right

This is my first foray into the world of horror books. I've always enjoyed horror movies but never went outside of my preferred science fiction/fantasy genre.

STORY
I found the story going back and forth between the killers and the family to be a great way to move the story along. This gives you a second point of view that helps elaborate what just happened in the story you read about.

I also found the inner thought narration for the killers to be a bit disturbing but in an interesting way. You rarely get to see the viewpoint of the killer as closely as this book does.

PERFORMANCE
Gary does a tremendous job at switching between the character voices and keeping you engaged as a listener. I'll be checking out more of his work in the future.

Amazingly disturbingly awesome!

Jeff Menapace is awesome! I don't want to spoil anything, but a family is tormented by a some very disturbed individuals on vacation, and that's just the first book. Gary Tiedemann is amazing in his delivery and does a fabulous job setting the mood and creating suspense! I love love love this trilogy! I will certainly listen to more by this author and narrator! I will definitely be getting the next book in the series! I received a free review copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you!

Fast paced psycho horror.

What made the experience of listening to The Bad Games Series Box Set: Books 1-3 the most enjoyable?

The stories didn't get dull at any point. Keeping the listener intrigued throughout the book is a tall ask and Jeff Menapace manages to do just that. Fabulous narration by Gary Tiedemann drives it home.

What did you like best about this story?

The story doesn't waste any time and hits the ground running. From the very beginning you can sense the tension building up and you get drawn into it. The story jumping between the family and the psychos keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Book 2 continues the story from 1 and glad to see that it doesn't repeat the same things but gives us new elements. The villains always so psychotic and disturbing. You keep rooting for the family.

Have you listened to any of Gary Tiedemann’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to any other series from him maybe, but since all 3 books of this series are narrated by him, I'd say I formed my opinion based on good number of books. I would definitely listen to more work from him.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Let's play the game" maybe.

Any additional comments?

Excellent Dark series, one of the best

After reading the first book, I just had to read the second and third. They did NOT disappoint! The action, twists and turns of the storyline were amazing. I found myself flipping back and forth between rooting for the bad guys and rooting for the good guys. Narration was amazing, Gary Tiedemann brings the story to life like no other. Great job, Jeff menapace! This is a series I would love to see in the movies!

wholly cow-wow!

this is one crazy ride. I know some of you are thinking, 20 hours? thats very long. But its 3 books, 3 very good chilling books! there is really not a dull moment in these books. and how the writer tends to keep it going without missing a beat through out all books is a marvel, but he does. these books, are chilling. Chilling in the fact that people out there can be totally crazy. and playings games with your mind, is what gets them off.
This is one I highly recommend.

the narrator did an excellent job bringing this story to life!
as did the writer! I am very glad that Gary read all three books. he did it VERY well.

Relentless

All three volumes in this set are excellent, relentless tales of suspense that will make you squirm while listening. This is actually the second time I've listened to the first book in the series, and I think I enjoyed it even more this second time around. I won't post spoilers, but what a crazy intense tale of a family being terrorized, and one I would love to see made into a movie. Book 2 picks up pretty much where the 1st one left off. And you really have to feel for the poor family. As if they hadn't already been through enough. The villains in all the books are so twisted and yet so compelling. The third book is still connected to the previous two, though the focus shifts a bit, bringing one of the minor characters of book 2 into a leading role. There is a fourth book in the series, and I have already downloaded onto my kindle!

Gary Tiedemann does a fantastic job in his narration. He does a great job of bringing the characters and story to life. I'd definitely listen to him again.

OMG I did not know I could sit on the edge so long

This book (series of books) kept me on the edge of my seat for days. I woke up and would want to turn the book on and listen before I even had coffee. Just by over hearing it my husband bought the book so he could read it at his pace and not make me re-listen so he could catch up.

Gary Tiedmann's narration was perfection. To me the mark of a great narrator is to fade into the background and bring the characters out so you can get to know them and he did that perfectly.

The two women in the story stand out to me. Amy grows so beautifully from book 1 to book 3 she goes from being a suburban housewife and mom to a woman who takes charge of her life. And Monica evil incarnate, she is very one dimensional, but intelligent and driven and self absorbed. Both women have one common trait, both hold family to the highest importance.

Book 4 is already in my library waiting for me to read. I bought it after reading the first because I knew this was a series I was not going to quit on.

Shockingas well as interesting tale.

I was fortunate enough to acquire the Box Set which contained all three Bad Games novels; Bad Games, Vengeful Games and Bad Games: Hellbent. It also contained a couple previously unpublished short stories and an interview with Jeff Menapace. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of writing and intensity of the character Arty. The basis or foundation of Arty’s psychotic behavior i.e. the comparison of nature and nurture was not only quite interesting, but provided authenticity and believability. There were a few moments of downright shock and horror at the actions one or both of the brothers accomplished. It sounds strange to say I enjoyed these books, but you do enjoy the experience of reading a well-written story. And that’s certainly what this was. Great series of books

The Bad Games Series is a twisted diabolical tale of psychotic people and there "games" they play with innocent people. Each book was thrilling and fast paced and I loved how they just all transitioned into each other. I loved the dialogue and relationships between the characters. The narration was top notch and thought they did an amazing job.
