Publisher's summary

This is not an uplifting tale of heroes and heroines; get that out of your head now. This is a tale of survival. It's a tale of dried blood beneath your nails, of new pain, of gnawing hunger and unrelenting loneliness, of fear and hatred, and yes, of courage.

In The Apocalypse, the great majority of the men and women who fought with honor - with a sense of duty and loyalty - gave their lives for others, leaving those without honor to flourish and rule. Their rule is not marked by decency or civility, but by wicked brutality. Yet, in some very rare cases, the kind and the noble survived. These hardened survivors learned to live among the undead, but now they must learn how to stay alive among creatures that are far more monstrous: their fellow man.

Well written a good continuation

The narrator did a great job with different voices for each character to help get the idea of who was talking at the moment.
This book was a good continuation from the first. It had been a few months since I had listened to the first book and a flash back in the beginning would have helped get me up to speed quicker so I would have enjoyed the first part of the book instead of trying to figure out what was going on and who was who.
As it is it really feels like you are just bouncing around for the first quarter of the book for no reason.
There are a number of places where the plot just seems to jump then get partly filled in with the back story from some other character. This still leaves some scenes stretched for continuity and a number of brushed over holes.
Over all it is a good action packed zombie story that doesn’t isn’t full of a lot of gore. There are a number of touching scenes to help you relate to the characters and pull you into the story.
I would recommend it but also recommend listening to it right after the first book because it is a continuation of what seems to be the next week.

What Happened P. Meredith?

No, no, no.... You can't do that and consider it good writing.
This book starts out with the best writing yet in the series. The author introduces a new character that is well conceived and presented: interesting, sympathetic, exciting, and not the flat stereotypes drawn in novel 1.
The storyline is engaging, new groups enter the picture, and the book shows great promise. And THEN... What happened Peter!?
Did your editor call and remind you of the impending deadline?
The style of writing changes as the plot lunges forward into a really improbable and disappointing plot problem.
It's difficult to describe without spoilers. Let's just say, would Spartacus be a good movie if, in the midst of the glorious battle for freedom, he decided to ride into Rome for a cheeseburger, and said, "Hey while I'm here, I think I'll just nail myself up on this cross for you!!"? If the analogy fails readers, forgive me. But know that toward the end P. Meredith hinged this really promising book on a ridiculous premise.
I'm off to listen to the next book. Still hopeful!

Amazing & Captivating leaves u wanting more!

100% honest, this book leaves you craving the next adventure! Jillibean makes you marvel at the will power, strength and determination of the soul of a child; thrown into the bowels of hell and expected to die, she not only survives she triumphants at every turn. Well written and beautiful spliced together story lines catch u like a fish on a hook and pull into the struggles, sorrows, fears and emotions of each character.

Getting Better

Much better. Honestly after first book if I hadn't already purchased this I wouldn't have. Glad I did Meredith relies less on crude hard core explicit pornographic scenarios and devotes more time to a genuine plot. I feel like this story is gaining traction and the author has decided to provide a quality story.
On to book three hopefully Meredith stays the course,

Another great story

Absolutely love this book and quickly the series. Mr. Meredith has a way of writing that makes even the more mundane parts of the books suspenseful. Not to mention the exciting points! Highly recommended. The narrator did a superb job. Only a few times did I get mixed up on the voices and he has an impressive variety.

Undead world series book 2

Peter Meredith is awesome this series is so out of this world awesome. Not only are humans infected but animals as well which puts a really wicked twist into things. The way people have fractioned off is how I would picture things to go. I love his characters they are very well thought out and colorful. Basil Sands does an amazing job narrating I love his wide range of voices.

Very smart

The constant thrills and change in scenarios made this book hard to pull away from. Sometimes I wish my commute in the mornings were a bit longer! Peter Meredith does a good job in setting the emotion of each moment and Basil Sands does well with the voicing. You'll end up really liking some characters and hating others, as I'm sure was intended. Definitely recommend this read/listen.

Jilly Bean! Nuff Said!

What did you love best about The Apocalypse Survivors?

Introduction of Jilly Bean, a very complicated and genius little girl!

What did you like best about this story?

The epic ending!

Which character – as performed by Basil Sands – was your favorite?

Jilly Bean

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

There are no happy endings in the Undead World!

Any additional comments?

This is a must read for Zombie fans who look for realism where not everyone is a bad ass ex-soldier or a prepper and the most unlikely find ways to survive! No PC nonsense here and that is fantastic!
