The fight between art and science

Who better to console you than the boyfriend of the woman your boyfriend ran away with?

Except he is a doctor and thrives on science and you are an artist that sees the world in abstract color.

This book was push and pull and heart break and healing. I absolutely loved it. Eli and Gwen had a relationship that is so true to life and not over the top romantic. More realistic and I appreciated that.

Veronica Pace is amazing. She was perfect for the quirky Gwen. And Fred Blogs was a great Eli. This story is told through dual narration and not duet, which is most definitely my preference.

Definitely 5 star and credit worthy.

OMG Dumped at the altar!!! And the bride runs away with your boyfriend. SMH

OMG I can't imagine what it would feel like to be left at the alter! Even just as bad I can't imagine what it would feel like to be one of the guest at that wedding and your boyfriend is who the bride leaves with! That is the premise of the story Eli is the groom that was left at the alter. And Gwen is the girlfriend of the man the bride ran off with. These two have a unique relationship because of that. These to find in each other what they should've had with their original partners. These two eventually become friends. After not liking each other very much. They both find out that they have more in common than that one big embarrassing moment and they eventually fall in love. Beautiful story nicely told with a HEA ending. I totally recommend the story to you.

Loved it!

I loved everything about this book. I'm a romantic type and could see the romance building with them with their bickering back and forth based on their individual heart. Becoming friends was great and then moving to something more was so exciting. I will reread certain parts of this book. Over and over. Will look to read more from this author.

Pleasantly surprised and adore

I was hesitant to grab this one because it didn't seem like it would be up my alley based on the blurb. But I took a leap based on a recommend. I am so glad I did. This is more like a enemy to friend to lovers story with a HEA. The narration was amazingly done, and The story was different in premise. It's worth a credit for sure and one I will be recommending also.

Not bad

Would you consider the audio edition of That Thing Between Eli and Gwen to be better than the print version?

I love audiobooks can compare it to the printed

What other book might you compare That Thing Between Eli and Gwen to and why?

Sugarbaby Beautiful

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

She came back I didn't like the baby part I didn't like the person that died in the book very sad very moving though show that the doctors can do both so much sorry for the all of his lost very heartbreaking. If there's a two I hope at some kind of twist and changes the baby part.

Ok but way too long

I think the book could've been done in a lot less hours. I enjoyed the banter between the two of them. But I guess it just wasn't my type of book not something I could listen to again

The thing between them is love!

Veronica and Fred were great narrators. The storyline, Gwen and Eli were great characters and it felt like I was right there in their story.

Guinevere drove me mad!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The voice actress was great but i wasn't entirely sold on the story or its characters. I didn't care what happened to them.

What could J. J. McAvoy have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not be so slut shame-y. That advice could be used to improve anyone's writing.

Which character – as performed by Veronica Pace and Fred Blogs – was your favorite?

Guin was voiced well, i just didn't relate to her as a character.

Simple and Realistic

This is a slow-paced, intricate, intimate and realistic love story. It doesn't rush into anything, including the fact that they don't particularly like each other initially, when you kind of think - having read the blurb - that they will. That makes this book so realistic so intriguing and so enjoyable. It wouldn't be a J. J. book without a plot twist, and of course, you don't see it coming! You really don't!

This is another wonderful book. It's a standalone, but if she ever wrote a sequel I'd get it in a heartbeat. Enjoy!

Lovely

I Loved the characters and story which drveloped well. i liked that the happy ever after was tested and worked through. I feel it ended abruptly though.
I would definitely listen to more from both the author and narrators.
