Publisher's summary

Full of humor and pathos, as Southern stories ought to be, the 15 short shorts in this debut collection will haunt you. From simple family dysfunction to tragic twists of fate, the characters in Surviving Nashville suffer their losses with surprising grace.

Stacy Barton is a storyteller with an ear for dialect, an eye for detail, and a heart for her characters - even the mean ones.

Wonderful storyteller.

Any additional comments?

Well, my ADD keeps me from reading fiction, and I have to reallllly be motivated to get through a nonfiction, but I have LOVED this audio book. I'm about 2/3 the way through. I've been listening to it forty-minutes a pop while in my portable sauna every-other day, over the computer speakers of my nearby computer, but the better way would be in my car, so I could pause between stories. But I like solitude when I'm in my car: no music, no nuttin, just paying attention to my thoughts, feelings, reactions, as a strategy to be grown in self-awareness. ANYway, the problem with not being able to pause between stories, is that I have no time to ponder the story, the characters, like one does after seeing a movie at a theater, sometimes for the rest of the evening, maybe into the next day. But because I'm in my sauna, I'm forced to jump right in to the next story, before I have a chance to digest the one I just heard. So, I'm looking forward to the audio version of Lily Harp. And Barton's first full novel! :)

Amazing writer and story teller

I love reading her stories. I get lost in them, almost as if I were there.
