Publisher's summary

From USA Today bestselling author Rochelle B. Weinstein comes an emotional novel for mothers, daughters, and anyone who has ever felt imperfect.

Emma and Bobby Ross enjoy a charmed life on the shores of Miami Beach. They are a model family with a successful business, an uncomplicated marriage, and two blessedly typical twin daughters, Zoe and Lily. They are established members of a tight-knit community.

Then, on the night of the girls’ fifteenth birthday party, they learn of Zoe’s heartbreaking mistake - a private and humiliating indiscretion that goes viral and thrusts her and her family into the center of a shocking public scandal.

As the family’s core is shattered by disgrace, judgment, and retribution, the fallout takes its toll. But for Emma, the shame runs deeper. Her daughter’s reckless behavior has stirred memories of her own secrets that could break a marriage, a family, and friendships forever.

The Struggle is Real

I really enjoyed the performance of this reader. I liked her inflections and follow through. I liked how she seemed to capture the moods in the story.

The story itself was good. it is very real and very true to what is happening in the world now. it breaks my heart how the world is. I did have a hard time with the dad in the story. He was well written and well developed, but man he had some struggles. The story while very true still ended well.

There but for the Grace of God go I!

We have ALL done things that we would not want out there for the world to scrutinize and this book shows just how much today’s technology can devastate a person by putting a spot light on our indiscretions.

Very simplistic story.

The story was somewhat predictable, and not that interesting to me. It would probably be a good book for young teens. A cautionary tale.

Eye opener. Story for families!

I enjoyed this book a lot! It is a reality of what items posted on the internet can do to families! And the ring of how many people of family & friends can be destroyed by jealousy or joking ! It is wrapped in a wonderful story of a loving family and what goes wrong! Quick read as story unfolds quickly and I wanted to know what now!!

Enlightening story & beautifully narrated

Having dealt with teens and the consequences of their texting and sexting over the past few years, I was glad to finally see this topic addressed in a book. The dangers, both legal and emotional, are very real and were handled well in Somebody's Daughter. It really can happen to any family at any time. I appreciated the detail the author included that even receiving & being in possession of such images, even if they aren't opened or viewed, is a violation of the law. While we can't help what someone else sends us, we can teach our kids not to open anything questionable. In addition to it being a well-written and well-researched story, the narration is probably the best I've heard from any narrator. I realized about 2/3 of the way through the book that I was aware of different voices for the characters but hadn't even noticed the change from one person to another, it flowed so smoothly. The narrator handled both male and female roles beautifully. I hadn't heard of this book or this author, but I can honestly say this is one of the best random choices I've ever made in choosing a book.

Beautiful

What a beautifully written story about the love between a mother and daughter who are on a journey for forgiveness, understanding and truth. I have a daughter of my own and can’t even begin to imagine how Emma and Zoe felt!! Perfectly timed subject matter for the current state of technology and age of the internet and the damage they can cause. Perfect narration only made this story even better-through her narration I felt so many feelings. I cried, laughed, grew angry and finally forgiveness.

Audio Somebody’s Daughter

This was a great story well spoken and enjoyable I don’t often give 5 Stars but this was well worth it some chapters I read twice if I wasn’t sure of something it’s an enjoyable read.
I only have one daughter and it made me really think what I would have done in the same situation.
I also was thankful we were not in the digital age when Caroline was a teenager.
Hope that I can find another book by the author that is as good !
