Before LIttle Scarlet and Cinnamon Kiss

This is a great collection of EZ short stories by Walter Mosley. They come between A Little Yellow Dog and Little Scarlet, and fill in a lot of the gaps between those two novels. Really enjoyable. ME Willis is a delight. Characters like Mama Joe, bring added depth. Gone Fishing was written before these stories, and there's references to what happened.

If you want a novel, then you won't be satisfied with short stories, but I really enjoyed seeing how Mosley works with the short story form and also the way the stories link together.

Excellent compilation of short stories

6 stories about Easy and his adventures. No spoilers in this review. In my opinion one of the beat of the series when it comes to character development. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Have a nice day.

Excellent short story series.

It was interesting to read what happened to Mouse and to understand the root story behind what occurs in the next book…

Ever on the move.

Ez is probably the simplest form of a complex protagonist. His world view is palatable if not a tad bitter but his idealistic traits make him a hero.

This collection of short stories sends you down a path of understanding. If you've ever felt unwanted or misguided you have been Ez before. if you still feel that way, but you're trying to do what's best for those who don't know no better, then you are still Ez.

These aren't feel good tales, but they definitely provide joy in a cold bleak California of yester-year.

if you have the time to spare give it a read or a listen.

Don't skip this one!

This is a collection of 7 short stories and while you may think you can skip this one you actually can't because even though the 7 stories are not related there is an overall story within this book. In this book the main themes that take place over all 7 stories is what happened to mouse, Bonnie and easy's relationship and juice's choice about school.

I know most people prefer the one main mystery but I liked the shorter stories. It shows that through the years not all of the crimes that easy solved were super dramatic

Not a fan of ME Willis

Would you consider the audio edition of Six Easy Pieces to be better than the print version?

Probably

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The story line did but the narrator did not give the same effect as Michael Boatman.

What aspect of M.E. Willis’s performance would you have changed?

I would have kept Michael Boatman for the Easy Rawlins stories

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Because of the story line, yes
