Publisher's Summary

Life has been good for Becky Bloomwood: She's become the best personal shopper at Barneys, she and her successful entrepreneurial boyfriend, Luke, are living happily in Manhattan's West Village, and her new next-door neighbor is a fashion designer! But with her best friend, Suze, engaged, how can Becky fail to notice that her own ring finger is bare? Not that she's been thinking of marriage (or diamonds) or anything.

Then Luke proposes! Bridal registries dance in Becky's head. Problem is, two other people are planning her wedding: Becky's overjoyed mother has been waiting forever to host a backyard wedding, with the bride resplendent in Mum's frilly old gown. While Luke's high-society mother is insisting on a glamorous, all-expenses-paid affair at the Plaza. Both weddings for the same day. And Becky can't seem to turn down either one. Can everyone's favorite shopaholic tie the knot before everything unravels?

Page Turner

I call this a page turner even though it is not a mystery because I never wanted to turn off my MP3 player. I absolutely loved this book !!!! I loved Becky, her accent, her neighbor Danny, her job and her family. I identify with her in many ways, like day dreaming about what "might" happen instead of accepting what "will" happen. I spent alot of time thinking about how Becky could "fix things" but the way things did turn out was even better than anythin I could dream up. As funny as this may sound, I almost think of Becky as a friend now.

I like this book but

This book was very enjoyable but I feel that the climactic obstacle was drawn out for very many chapters and I found myself wanting to fast-forward as the main character described in excruciating detail the very same problem that she was experiencing three or four chapters ago

Shopaholic Ties the Knot

This is another great hit from Sophie Kinsella, and Emily Gray is the perfect narrator for the series!

Love Crazy Becky Bloomwood!

Would you consider the audio edition of Shopaholic Ties the Knot to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version, so I can't say.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the twists and turns in the story and how wacky Becky extricates herself from the messes she makes for herself. I love a story that makes me laugh and this series never fails to deliver.

What does Emily Gray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Emily Gray is an excellent narrator, and I'm disappointed that she doesn't narrate the rest of the series. Her subtle voice inflections and changes for each character are superb. Many British narrators overdo it when doing an American accent, but Emily Gray gets it just right. I'll be looking for other books that she has narrated.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Get ready for another crazy adventure with Becky Bloomwood, Shopaholic Extraordinaire!

Fun as always!

Beckie Bloomfield continues to make life interesting and entertaining. It's always impressive how Gray spins tales that are so light hearted, yet have an impressive array of characters that have a surprising amount of depth. This book continues that trend.3

Not as good as the other books

Still cute. was hard to sit through the whole thing. Thought about stopping halfway through and skipping to the next book. did have some good parts though. I'll still be a Becky fan for life. :)

Becky can't get her life together

Would you try another book from Sophie Kinsella and/or Emily Gray?

No.

What could Sophie Kinsella have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Made Becky stronger, and not such a lying, weak, idiot.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disgust

Any additional comments?

I read the entire series before and listened to this series the 2nd time. I didn't realize how much her female characters irritate me. Becky doesn't stand up for herself, and she lies in every single book.

She's a pathological liar!

I really like the shopaholic stories but Becky lacks moral character. She lies even when it's not necessary. Her dishonesty is irritating. The author must think it's cute but it's not. I keep hoping that she will grow up and learn some life lessons about truth and honesty but it hasn't happened. I don't know if I can read another one of these books.

Hilarious!

What made the experience of listening to Shopaholic Ties the Knot the most enjoyable?

Becky is funny and so dimwit at times, but somehow her way of thinking is still funny and entertaining.

What other book might you compare Shopaholic Ties the Knot to and why?

Others from Shopaholic series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Nothing amazing here

Any additional comments?

I did manage to finish it even though I got so annoyed with the main character that I was at the point of stopping. The end was better than I was expecting but if I hadn't been recovering from an operation giving me lots of free time I probably wouldn't have made it through. The main frustration is that Becky doesn't seem to have matured at all from the first two books, has no character progression and doesn't really seem to know how the world works at all.<br/><br/>If you have enjoyed the first two then it isn't terrible, it just isn't that good.

The phrase 'I mean' sounds wrong when she says it.

I find Emily Grey comes of cheesy sometimes. It bugs me. Great other than that.

Wonderful book

What did you like most about Shopaholic Ties the Knot?

This book was amazing! If you enjoyed the first two Shopaholic books, then you will most certainly enjoy this one. There is a touch of a bit more romance in this edition (hence the title of the novel), yet, I enjoyed every moment of it. Becky and Luke make an awesome couple and the organization and planning done for both of the weddings was hilarious! What happens at the end? I'm not going to say. Just purchase this book cause it is well worth your money!

Very Similar to the first book

I loved the first book of Shopaholic series. This was too predictable, it felt like i was reading the 1st book again in most part of the book. There are some parts was funny but not many. it was boring

Silly but a giggle

I completely agree with the previous reviewer. The book did get silly at times and I did get frustrated with Becky but it also made me laugh out loud on the train and was generally a good listen. Narrated beautifully by Emily Gray
