Good story!

I liked this book so much I followed up with her second and third books in this series. It's a nice story and so are the other two.

A nice discovery

If you like Janette Oke's books then you will like this book. The narrator is the same, and sounds better in this book than in Janette Oke's Love Comes Softly. The story is romantic and hopeful and I enjoyed listening to it.

Misleading!!

This book was not a romance! Literally, in the last paragraph of the book, the author decided to stick in a proposal, from the two most unlikely people in the book. And this was after allowing you to believe that there MIGHT be a possible romance between the hero and heroine all through the book, even up to the chapter!
Had this book been under the catagory of western saga, I would have given it all five stars and then some.

Very moving!

This book really touched my heart. This author has a wonderful way of weaving a story. I will buy the two books that follow this one.

Secrets on the wind

I read this book a few years ago and loved it! I even looked for it in audible . I was excited when I found it to be so disappointed later because of the narrator . I hate to be so critical, but it was so bad I couldn’t even finish it. It’s a shame because it really is a great story! They should consider having another-narrator to redo it .

refreshing

I love historical Christian romance but most lately are drowning in romance with little story or history. this kept the romance low key .God and life were a priority with a lot of history.well done!!

Great historical fiction! Well researched, believable, grace filled!

A beautiful story of redeeming love, great plot, wonderful characters, especially Granny Mac. A bit brutal in spots, but necessary to the story and not over done.

Well written but not for me

This book is very well written and the experiences of the main character seem quite real. I think that Ms. Whitson accurately captured the anguish and despair that so many women have suffered at the hands of others. The narrator did a wonderful job as usual.
That being said, I like to read to relax and throw off the burdens of the day, and I found this story a little too weighty to relax by. This one story won't keep me from looking forward to her other books. I absolutely loved "Sixteen Brides"!

SECRETS ON THE WIND

AFTER I GOT PAST THE FIRST FEW MINUTES OF THE BOOK, I ENJOYED IT. I WAS NOT AT ALL SURPRISED BY THE ENDING, AS ONE REVIEW MENTIONED. NARRATOR DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF PORTRAYING THE DIFFERENT CHARACTERS.
