Don't bother!

if you're looking for a story about what actually happened to Cory, don't look for it here. This book is straight boring.

If you wanted more info on Cory, you won’t get it here.

As a story in and of itself it delivers like any other V.C. Andrews book. If you wanted more insight into what happened to Cory, you won’t get much from reading this. Hoping there is another book in this series eventually.

Glad to know Cory is alive........

I have read or listened to all V.C. Andrew's books. This book was one of the best written books since V.C. died, however, the reader sucked- The Narrated sounds like she is on drugs or drunk.... Slow and draggy through out the story... I did not like her voice at all. It was hard to follow so I read the book instead... get someone better to narrative the story other then Charlotte Penfield....... please....

I have many issues!

1. Cory supposedly died in 1960, but this story isn't representative of the US in 1960. For one thing, mental illness was not discussed in 1960. People didn't use the term "mental illness". People in the 1960s thought mental illness was demon possession. So the whole "let's get a psychiatrist and be sensitive to mental needs" was NOT a thing! Also, suicide was not discussed in 1960. it was horribly ignored.
2. What about Cory's natural inclination toward music?
3. The whole idea of Cory not being able to walk is unrealistic. Carrie, Cathy and Chris were able to walk
4. When "Uncle Bobby" danced, Cory would have remembered Cathy dancing.
5. If Clara Sue's grandfather was really a big wig in business, it stands to reason that he would have known the Foxworths and could have had a picture with Malcolm. That would have added an extra dimension to the story.
Overall, it really isn't a realistic parallel universe to what happened to Cory after Flowers in the Attic. The main parts of Cory's character was not continued in this story. Supposedly Cory's body was found in Petal's on the Wind, but I have issues with that, too. It would be great to have a story in which we believed Cory actually survived, but this story just wasn't realistic. it was very clearly written I the 21st century with 21st century understanding of mental illness.
And, what the heck does "the skirt went down half way between my knee and my thigh" even mean?

Decent story

Decent story, narration was terrible for me though. No difference in expressions, very one tone with no life in it for the different characters! Probably would’ve been a different experience with a good narrator!
