Publisher's summary

Best-selling author William W. Johnstone has penned more than 200 novels, and is especially loved for his Westerns. Smoke Jensen travels from his peaceful Sugarloaf Ranch to Santa Clara, Colorado, where he wins an auction for a pureblood Hereford bull. But this makes Pogue Quentin, the town’s leading citizen and a man accustomed to bloodshed, furious. When Smoke’s friend has a run-in with Quentin, things get pretty dicey.

Savagery of the Mountain Man

A really good story line…always guessing what the next thing will happen and I like the 2 characters, Smoke and Purley Gates.

Smoke and Pearly

Another great book about Smoke. This book is full of action and adventure. Pearly has a big role in this book and that makes it one if my favorites. It holds your interest from the beginning to the end. it's definitely worth buying or a credit. Jack Garrett does a great job narrating this book. if my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you

Very good story

I always enjoy William Johnstone. I really like J. Rodney Turner as the narrarator but Jack Garrett does pretty good too.

So frustrating

I swear, these ghost writers do not even bother reading previous books. For the last 40 books it has been pronounced "Lewis Longmont" and now suddenly its pronounced "Louie". Also, Millie Sinclair is copied from the Will Fain books. Lastly, we are now back to saying that Sally is as good with a gun as smoke from previously being told she was not a fast gun.
