    "Good Listen!!!"

It was similar to the movie and having Mia Farrow narrate was naturally the right choice as she's the original Rosemary. :-)

    Any additional comments?

Having practically memorized the film from so many viewings, and finally reading the physical novel last Halloween, it did admittedly strike me as mildly redundant to re-re-revisit Rosemary's Baby in the audio form. But with the promise of Mia Farrow--Rosemary herself!--narrating, the woman whose lovely vulnerability made me fall in love with the film in the first place, I couldn't pass it up! And I was not disappointed.

Levin's book is truly gorgeous in its simple, precise writing filled with small pockets of darkness and peculiar shadows on the wall--he leaves clues scattered all over the book, and even though I've watched/read this story countless times, it is marvelous to revisit a master of suspense and slowly discover all the ways he's tipping us off from the beginning.

I adore Mia Farrow's narration. Her voice is naturally soothing and lovely, and she's a natural with creating characters. Rosemary's words replicate the sweet, slightly squeaky timbre heard in the film; meanwhile Minnie Castavet speaks in a raspy, amusingly accented whine without copying Ruth Gordon's performance (with a few exceptions---my personal favorite is her pronunciation of "preg-a-nent"). In this narration, Mia gets to really encompass Rosemary's entire little life, inside her head and out of it--her dreamy excitement for the baby, her insecurity with her wifely duties, her nostalgia for religion, and at some points, contempt for her husband. Levin's writing is just so damn good (and the film so damn close) that while I listen I feel like I'm watching a new, more in-depth version of the film I know and love.

I'm so thrilled to have this in my library, and I'll probably be listening to it over and over again.

"Great story, not so great performance"
What made the experience of listening to Rosemary's Baby the most enjoyable?

The story line. I read it years ago and enjoyed it and with the movie coming out, decided to listen to it before watching the movie. It's a great story with interesting characters.

Would you be willing to try another one of Mia Farrow’s performances?

Absolutely not. She speaks so softly that it's next to impossible to listen to the book in the shower (I have a shower speaker) or in my car. I don't have problems with any of the other performers I listen to, just this one. I understand she's trying to portray Rosemary and meek and timid but she could have projected more.

    Any additional comments?

Other than Mia Farrow's performance and the occasional creepy music, I guess signaling the end of a chapter, it's a great book.

    "I was hoping for more..."
What did you love best about Rosemary's Baby?

I love the build up to the ending, I also love the ending as well as book 2.

What did you like best about this story?

That it puts a mothers loyalty to whatever she gives birth to into question.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    The ending.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    No, not really.

    Any additional comments?

While I've never found this story to be scary, it is interesting. However, I'd heard from people that the book was different from the movie (and the sad remake), it really isn't any different. I was hoping that like the book "The Exorcist" it would shine a little more light on the story, it doesn't. So if you enjoyed the film, you'll like the book.

Mia Farrow is an amazing narrator.

"Rosemary's Baby narrated by the woman herself :)"
What made the experience of listening to Rosemary's Baby the most enjoyable?

It was Mia Farrow. I enjoyed the movie a lot, having seen that first. But there were things that weren't touched in the movie that were revealed in the book

What did you like best about this story?

I liked everything. Maybe except the party scene, but everything else was enjoyable :)

What about Mia Farrow’s performance did you like?

I liked how she read Minnie. It's funny that she also corrects herself in the way she said "basil" XD

    "Rosemary's Baby"
Would you consider the audio edition of Rosemary's Baby to be better than the print version?

No, although I did really enjoy it, I just prefer to read things myself. Mia did a fabulous job in my opinon and I do not regret buying this title.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rosemary. She's just a fun character and it is entertaining to see what lengths she goes through to prove that something is not right with things. I've always liked the movie as well as the book.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Right around the birth of Rosemary's baby.

If you could rename Rosemary's Baby, what would you call it?

    I don't know.

    Any additional comments?

This is a good audio book and I enjoyed it. I however prefer to read myself, therefore this subscription is just not for me and even if I did love it, I would not pay $14.95 a month (or more!) for it, just not worth it to me. But I'm glad I checked it out and gave it a chance. The two books I tried were good. Thanks! : )

    "WOW! A GREAT STORY"
If you could sum up Rosemary's Baby in three words, what would they be?

    Scary, scary, scary!

What did you like best about this story?

I liked this book the first time I read it when I was a lot younger than now. Now, when I listened to it, it was even better. I'm an avid reader from Audible, and this was right at the top of my listening list. Great story. It's at the top of my "can't put down" books.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    The "birthing" scene, just great.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Couldn't stop listening. A rare feeling for me. I have listened to many, many books and this book made me scared of sounds in my condo.

    Any additional comments?

Just a really good listen. But be prepared to listen more than you planned because it's REALLY, REALLY SCARY!

    "Excellent!!!"

I loved watching the movie, "Rosemary's Baby," with Mia Farrow, but it was an extra added treat to have Mia narrate the story. I LOVED Mia's performance, just as I enjoyed her in the movie.

This is definitely worth adding to the library.

"Amazing listen, even after seeing the movie!"

Mia captured so much emotion in the reading of this book and my only sadness is that there wasn't more! I enjoyed the movie very much and although the tv show remake was good, my favorite will always be the movie starring Mia as Rosemary. :)

To say she was brilliant in her performance of the characters is a understatement. She captured them so perfectly, it felt like I was watching a directors cut of the movie all over again.

The story was fast paced enough and very easy to listen to!

Excellent job and I would gladly listen to anything Mia reads for again. One can only hope that one day, she might read for The Last Unicorn.

I'd recommend this audio book to any fan of the movie Rosemary's Baby.
