Publisher's Summary

In 1587, a fleet of English ships set sail for the Virginia colony. During a storm, one ship became separated from the others and was never seen again. The settlers on board were presumed lost at sea, but there is both historical and legendary evidence that the colonists actually founded the Roanoke colony.

Veteran novelist Hunt (Theyn Chronicles) reimagines this slice of Colonial history through the eyes of Jocelyn White, a newlywed reluctant to leave her home in England for the wild shores of the New World. White's journey is fraught with danger, but her dependence on God and God's providence carry her safely through. Hunt's engaging historical romance will appeal to fans of B.J. Hoff and Patricia Hickman. Recommended for most collections.

Fantastic Read!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! The story was based on historical fact, and the characters were so believable.

What did you like best about this story?

The way the narration draws you into the story with the multitude of characters. It really gave you a sense of what it would have been like to walk in the shoes of the early settlers.

Which character – as performed by Lesley Parkin – was your favorite?

All of the characters were so well performed, but I thought Audrey was my favorite.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The end of the story, so I don't want to give it away!

Any additional comments?

This was a marvelous book in every way, especially the way the author took the facts and wove such a wonderful tale! The narration was brilliant, with so many character voices!

Excellent story and loved the narration!

Would you consider the audio edition of Roanoke to be better than the print version?

Yes, definitely.

What other book might you compare Roanoke to and why?

What does Lesley Parkin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Amazing range of voices and great storytelling that really immersed me in the plot.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Any additional comments?
