What a powerful book

Wow. All the way through this book each character became so real. My heart was sad and heavy with each time the young main character faltered and fell down. Each heartbreak so sad but the elder main character was so quietly strong and his faith tested so many times and yet he still believed in the Lord. I highly recommend this book. Thank you Mr Jenkins.

Amazing story

This book was better than I hoped it would be. I had enjoyed some of Jerry Jenkins other stories, but I think this is his very best one of all that I have read. It’s a fairly long story,But well worth the time put into it. The end was a complete surprise to me and was very delightful.

Wrecked

I had the opportunity to interview Jerry Jenkins’ son Dallas on my podcast. I asked Dallas, “Of all the books written by your dad, which is your very favorite?” His answer was Riven. I had never heard of it. To be honest, it began kind of slow as I tried to figure out the characters and where Jenkins was going with it, but in the end I was completely wrecked. I thought I had it figured out, but talk about a twist! So glad I finished this one. Tears are streaming as I write these words. You need this book!

Very good story

Seemed realistic and very interesting. Good character development and I liked how the two subplots wove together to the benefit each character and mutually provide what they were needing.

Good book

Enjoyed this book. Gonna go home and read my Bible. I only like to listen to my Christian fiction on the Sabbath. Well, this was so good, I ended up going over the Sabbath hours instead of moving on to a different book. Oh well. Now I’ll need to buy another Christian book for next Sabbath. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Riven is Excellent

Jerry Jenkins is such a gifted author/writer. This book is so exceptional in the character development and subilties that line its pages. I'm enjoying the narrator and have no problem with his reading at all. After awhile his voice is that of any other southern personality. I'm in the first book with two more sections yet to go and already don't want to see it end because the issues the characters are involved with could be me or someone in my family and I know Jerry Jenkins is using this book to answer spiritual needs with God's Word. I recommend this as a gift to those you love who enjoy a good book on the road. I'm walking more so I can listen to it more.

Just awesome!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! This story is truly great. I usually like a good storyline and if the narrator does a good job in telling it, I am impressed. The book has an interesting plot and the narrator does an excellent job! I stayed up late listening to this one... It's amazing how I couldn't stop!

Have you listened to any of Joey Collins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The end. I had tears streaming down my face and my heart was full. What a great spiritual uplift!

Sad but inspirational

Brady Wayne Darby was like so many young people today. He had no positive support at home even though he could have made his life better by trying. He did have an aunt & uncle who loved him and a brother who admired him. Brady thought the world owed him.
Pastor Thomas & his wife and spent most of their lives serving in churches only to find all the folks in church don’t live up to Jesus’ example.
When the paths of Brady and Thomas cross in a most unlikely place, God is able to miraculously show what HIS love and mercy can accomplish.
