Publisher's summary

Melanie Winters and Daniel Montgomery shared a love they believed bonded them together for life. After a tragic loss, overwhelming grief and misguided guilt distorts the truth, and their relationship ends in unanswered questions. For nine years, they drift through life, each unable to forget the one who holds their heart. Now, when their lives again intersect, will the power that drew them together be enough to heal the wounds from their past?

Pulled is a story of attraction and separation, of a love so strong it refuses to give up even when all others have.

Intense book

This book was a good. I would recommend it. True love pulled apart by a horrible accident. Almost a decade later their undeniable love finally draws them back together unexpectedly. Sadly, they realize all those years separated could have been avoided. An abusive controlling husband is the biggest barrier for them to find that happily ever after.

Romantic, emotional and breathtaking

I have to begin this review by reminding listeners that Romantic Fiction is just that – Fiction. Something feigned, invented, or imagined; a made-up story meant to entertain.
If you can get past a few unrealistic plot points you will absolutely love this emotional and extremely romantic book. If you enjoy your listens with a little less fantasy and a bit more reality then perhaps you should skip this one.

This book really “pulled” at my heartstrings and its dream-like quality really swept me up and took me away into the fantasy and reality of love lost but never forgotten. This is a beautiful love story that will take your breath away.

My only complaint is with the narration. I really liked Andi Arndt but the listen could have been amazing if they had a male narrator for Daniel’s POV.

Offically the "Number 1" book in My Library

Spellbinding, intense, heartbreaking and I LOVED this book. Get two boxes of tissue and prepare yourself to be swept away into the most intensely beautiful love story I have ever listened to. Like I said, this is number 1 in my library. No it's not a sexually graphic novel but its a spiritually graphic one. It's tragic but beautiful. It's love like every woman wants to find. I'd gladly give more than one credit for this book! Yes it's that good. I'm actually shocked it hasn't got off the charts reviews.

5 Pulled Stars

I can’t say enough about this book. It was the first for me by this author back when I first read it. Now that I have it in audio I HAD to do a re-read.

And it still hits me in the chest as much as it did the first time. You know those books you read and they stick with you days, months or even years later. Well that was/is this book for me. I read it back in 2013 and 3 yrs. later it pops in to my head.

The pull these 2 characters feel for each other is like anything I have read before, that isn’t paranormal. I just found that to be endearing.

Melanie & Daniel are just meant to be, that deep down kind of love you want if you don’t have it. That soul searching feeling and when you find it or they find you, it’s like you clicked together. You’re not just 2 separate beings your now your 1 whole person, isn’t that what we are all searching for. Well this book gives us that.

I don’t know if it’s because I found the love of my life early but this book just speaks to me. Yes there is some heart breaking moments and some frustrating ones too. But that’s what makes this book so freaking great because the struggles these two go through to be with each other just makes it worth it in the end.

I don’t know if I am saying this right or not. God I hope I didn’t mess up the review because this book deserves all the stars it can get, everyone needs to read this beautifully written book.

I actually enjoyed the narration of this book, she sucks you in just as it did when I read it to myself. Happy I got it in audio!

This has always been one of my favorite AL Jackson book but I never reviewed it. I decided it was time for a re-listen since it's been years and I still loved it as much this time. While the story is a little "unbelievable" it still made my heart shine in the end. It's a beautiful tragic love story with a lot of hard situations. I'm sure I will listen again in a few years cause it still remains a favorite of mine.

The narration this time was surprising for me, the first time I think I was pretty new to audio but this time I thought it was very obviously in the beginning of Andi Arndt's career because she didn't give the men their own voices, it was all just read in her normal voice. She is great at male voices now!

i'm on the fence with this one...

i love fairy tales. honest. i do. i love You've Got Mail and Never Been Kissed and Say Anything. i'm a romantic, but...

i found some things really lacking in this book and as much as i tried to LOVE it, and some parts i did, i still had a tough time overcoming some of the plot points. in fact, i found myself rolling my eyes and mumbling about "oh give me a break!"

the one biggest annoyance?

when melanie goes to see daniel (after being pulled from him by her idiot parents) and goes to visit him, walks into the house and does NOT see daniel (who was taking a shower). instead?! instead she listens to a jealous wannabe girlfriend, stephanie, telling her that he's moved on and daniel no longer wants melanie. so melanie LEAVES (after flying all that way to see daniel) without actually SEEING him. i really had a HARD time believing that ANY real lover/girlfriend/soulmate WHATEVER, would not say, "no. i'm here to see him. i will WAIT in the living room until he comes out of the shower."

and then the next nine years of idiocy wouldn't happen and we wouldn't have the book. lol

so of course i have to go along for the crazy ride that is this book Pulled and continue rolling my eyes when this sort of stuff happened...over and over and over.

these are my questions that really never got answered....
--why did melanie's husband hate her so much?
--why didn't she ever try to talk to her dad and rectify that situation?
--why didn't she just PICK UP THE PHONE and call daniel?
--why didn't daniel EVER try to find her?
--why didn't erin tell daniel the truth rather than waiting NINE years?

there's so many annoyances with this book that i have a difficult time giving it five stars. i'm one of those reviewers that LOVES to give a book five stars if i LOVED it. i just can't do it in this case and that makes me sad because it had potential. it really did.

however, with that said, the love between these two is palpable. i felt it every time they were together. their love was perfectly written. sometimes i was upset that melanie didn't do or say the things i would, but i have to remind myself that she's young and naive.

as for the narration? i am being absolutely truthful when i say that after being an audible member for over six years, that this was one of the finest performances i've ever listened to.
she was brilliant. there could have been a male voice for daniel's parts, but in all fairness to andi, i thought she was OUTSTANDING in both voices----as well as the others. i will look for her work from here on out....

in the end, i'll give Pulled three stars because it's a great book but needs some work, but a solid five stars for narration!

Puuuulled

Teens ! If you love a sugary, long and drawn out painful romance, narrated and over acted in a superbly teen pitched voice (Andi Arndt), then this is the audible book for you. You will love it.
Adults !! Leave it on the 'shelf' so to speak, and save your credit.

5 STARS THAT PULLED ME IN!

This was a great second chance book. Daniel and Melanie had to go though some pain and heartache before they could finally get to their HEA. I loved the closeness of Daniel's family.

I'm on the fence

SPOILER ALERTS

I waited quite a while before deciding to purchase this book because of the mixed reviews. After listening to the book I can see both strength & weaknesses. I enjoyed listening to this book and it pulled out many different emotions from me as the story unfolded. I felt for the young couple who first experiences love and heartache. I hated how Melanie and Daniel gave up so easily on each other and Melanie's marriage made my stomach sour. I hated how Melanie and her parent's relationship fell apart so easily and I hated they had been left out in the cold throughout the entire pregnancy. And overall I yearned for the 2 lovers to find their way back to each other.

The thing that I didn't like about this book was the infidelity and how so many people accepted it. Especially given that Melanie's husband was abusive. She was so naive and how did no one in her life stand up to her and give her a dose of reality on what happens to spouses of abusers? That was the point that this story went down hill so far for me.

This story became a ticking time bomb when Daniel and Melanie resumed their relationship without ending the marriage. I can get past my personal feelings on the subject but this what the point in the story that the book became very implausible for me.

I don't know that I would recommend this book to others.
