Never have a white women portray black women

Loved the story, however I kept having to remind myself that these were black women!
Didn’t like the narrators voice....telling the stories of black women! I was annoyed

Interesting listening experience

This book started a little slow for me and seemed to keep with a moderate tone throughout. The story was decent enough but left some things to be desired. The narrator wasn't horrible but the female voices seemed a bit masculine at times. It took me a while to get through this book because I struggled to stay interested at first. It got better about ten to fifteen chapters in. I did like that there was somewhat of an update of characters at the end but it still left some questions unanswered. Overall the book was worth the listen.

Exciting

This was one of the best that I have read in a long while. I think this needs to be a movie. I want more especially from Fay!

Good Read

I enjoyed this book. the characters seemed so real and relatable. It's a lengthy read but I liked that I could read it slow and it was so thorough. I would read this again.

Unreal

This book was very difficult to complete. It was just to unreal for me.

I liked it!

This was my first experience with this author, and I really liked it. It's not your typical romance story, although there are some definite "steamy" elements. Despite the pronounced differences in the characters, it was interesting and entertaining to see how they were drawn to each other and interfaced in each other's lives. I rarely listen to books twice, but I will probably make an exception with this one.

Engaging

I was intriqued by the summary of Pleasure Seekers, skeptic as I started to listen to the first 20 minutes, but engaged and 'involved' with the characters shortly after. I'm anxiously awaiting Ms. Alers's next book on audio.

No I havent

Very Enjoyable

Based on the title and synopsis, I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book. To my surprise, I was totally captivated. I found myself loving and hating each of the main characters. In this book Alers manages to take readers into the lives of four individual women without over- or underdeveloping any one of them. Additionally, the narrator did a wonderful job breathing life into Alers' words. I will definitely keep an eye out for other titles by both this author and narrator.

A Pleasure to read

Well written, vivid characters, great content that is meaningful. Recommended read. I could not stop listening. Thought this would be a book with not much substance but gave it a chance - - was I WRONG! I have recruited several new audible members who wanted to purchse this one.
