Publisher's Summary

Karen Grigsby Bates, a contributor to People magazine and the Los Angeles Times, and an NPR commentator, delivers a slick mystery featuring sharp-tongued reporter Alex Powell.

While attending the National Association of Black Journalists conference, Alex discovers the dead body of a publishing bigwig who was about to be toasted as journalist of the year. As Alex investigates, she uncovers deadly secrets - and puts her own life in danger.

Critic Reviews

"Alex, despite her preoccupation with the material world, is a likable, smart-ass heroine, and readers will smile when she gets her villain--and her man--in the end." (Booklist)

Great Recording

Before purchasing this audiobook I already had the paperback version of the book so I was pleased to see that everything lined up perfectly. I'm happy with my purchase. Is the second book, Chosen People ever going to be recorded and released?
