Never before having time for a man, Sabrina's sabbatical forces her to slow down, allowing her to experience something she's never felt before - loneliness. Ben, a local bachelor, would like to fill this place in her heart. But can Sabrina make room in her life for love? Is she willing to juggle a career and a relationship?
Author Patricia Marlett weaves a tale of mystery and romance in Passionate Promises as Sabrina comes to terms with the sudden unexplainable death of her beloved Aunt Millie. Since the funeral, she is plagued by a soft voice whispering messages in her ear and feels the presence of someone nearby, always with her. And then the dreams begin. These unusual experiences are daunting to Sabrina, but she remains determined to uncover the meaning held within the legacy. Someone is trying to get her attention - but who and why, and what is their connection to...passionate promises?
This story drags on and on. The writer sounds like she sat there writing with a thesaurus in one hand and while authors usually relay the thoughts and feelings of a character once and then summarize when they talk to others, this one repeats not one time but several for each event. The reader isn't fun to listen to either. While I usually enjoy Christian books, this one was a waste of time and money.
